Well, for your sake, let's hope the Bell installer shows up then. They have a pretty good history of not.

If the don't show up just phone ExpressVu and tell them you want some type of satisfaction credit...when I lasted worked there they would give a $50 bill credit if the person missed the appointment. Sometimes the installers over book themselves or just decide not to show.

Nope, just telling the truth. I visit many online forums and many, many people have been left out in the cold waiting for an install that never comes with no phone call or anything.

BEV contracts out their installs, yep. So does Star Choice. It's the responsibility of the originating company to ensure that the contractor actually performs the job properly and as expected. Typical BEV supporter...pass the buck.

Hey, for the sake of the member here, I hope they show up. I just thought I would give him the heads up on the possibility of it not happening. Back on topic now...

I find that argument so funny...can't see the puck HA! My grandma can keep track of the puck on regular Shaw cable feeds so I don't understand what their problem is with that. Always makes me laugh...

I am not trying to pass the buck...I am just saying that ExVu can not keep track of every installer on duty or how they slot their times. I have many friends who have had StarChoice, ExpessVu and Shaw installers not show up for numerous appointments...I just think its funny how you always make it out that Exvu is the only company that misses appointments on a regular basis. Also having worked for Bell for 3 years and selling probably 200+ Exvu's and only having less than 15 complaints about installation isn't bad odds...It took Shaw about a month and 4 appointment requests to finnaly get my internet installed.

But we are getting off topic (sorry)...I did not mean to start an argument but I just wanted to point out that Bell isn't the only company that misses appointments from time to time!

Now just be sure you make a copy of whatever deal you signed up for. They've been known to forget about rebates and deny they ever existed. Once they agree, they've been known to promise you your deal but you wait and you wait and you continue paying. They hope you'll just go away but if you don't, eventually you should get satisfaction. Not saying this will happen, just a heads up.
On the other side, they do have the best HD programming out west here.

Yep...real great. Spend $60 - $100 a month for a product but don't count on getting any decent customer service. Now there's a company I WANT to deal with...

I can't wait until Shaw/SC get NHL CI (it IS coming). Then hockey fans will have a choice.

Actually, that;s no longer true. Save for a couple of obscure HD services, both Shaw and SC have very equal programming. Coming April 11 (Wednesday), Shaw is adding all U.S. HD Eastern nets as well as HDNet and WGN HD for CW programming. SC already has all this. SC/Shaw also has a couple of HD services that BEV does not.

Bow to the greatness of Shaw....do you work for them or something?

People obvisiously like Bell and hate Bell...just as much as Shaw/SC. If someone had comparable internet out west I would not deal with them at all.

I thought we were getting back on topic...

I read of one trick for getting better customer service is too press 2 for French and then start speaking in English. The French speak better English than most of the CSRs on the English side.

HD Channels to be Added to Shaw on April 11:

ABC Detroit HD
NBC Detroit HD
CBS Detroit HD
FOX Detroit HD
Movie Central HD2
WGN HD
HDNet

Channels like Tresure, Oasis, etc. are obscure HD services.

Global/Omni/Sun/City are Canadian channels that play the same content as American services and are not required.

Funny how National Geoghraphic (carried by Shaw and SC but not BEV) is not on the list.

No, I didn't. Even with those stations...It's still no comparison. Shaw compresses their signal 3 times as much as Bell...the macroblocking is terrible. Bell still has nearly double the channels as Shaw in HD, when you add in Centre Ice and PPV HD.

How are those channels obscure? I watch Rush HD all the time. Even then, this is really a ridiculous arguement. Bell pwns shaw in terms of channel selection. Shaw has better CS. Take your pick.

National Geographic channel would be nice, but shaw can take it. I'll stick with CI HD.

Yes, you did. And PROVE this. I call bull****. I am constantly up to date on what happens in the industry and it's simply not true.

Did you know that BEV takes every HD signal down to 720p? Even if that signal is given to them in 1080i? Well, they do. So HD customers are not getting the true quality signal. Shaw/SC deliver the feed as is. If it's 1080i, that's what the consumer gets.

As for CI and PPV...who cares? Many people could care less about HD of services they do not sub to. We are talking basic channels here. You're grasping at straws.

That's fine. But they are niche channels. You and 3 other people in Ontario watch them. They do not offer standard programming that the "majority" watches. That is my only point. They lose money on these channels.
