Yeah it's pretty sick to think of having that as your desktop computer. The possibilities are endless.

Wow... Can't wait for these things to replace the Laptop. Man I hate the way laptops are designed.
This would help create a tablet pc on crack!

The guy who was working on that, is attending TED again this year (it happens this week I beleive), and I think he may have an updated version of what was demoed last year.
Should be pretty cool what ever that is.
No doubt his inspiration came from Star Trek, The Matrix and other Sci-Fi type movies.

Very cool true, and I can see the usage potential for drawing, image manipulation, and maybe even web browsing, but I don't see how it would help with data input, as in spreadsheets and wordprocessing.
What that needs is a voice reognition component to really take it to the next level.

Given the promo videos and demo's I have seen, I am pretty sure that the iPhone has this type of screen .

I doubt its 10y, probably more like 15-25 before someone can make the system robust and sturdy enough for the average user. This will probably will be alot like the Mac, great for AV Design etc.
People were saying the same thing about speech recognition and that still hasnt replaced the keyboard.
Very cool with the photo album manipulation and NASA earth program. What OS were they using, I assume Linux but it looked like a Mac as well.

Not bad, the guy is good presenter...we have a lot of that stuff going on here in Calgary too...there is a lab at the U of C ( iLAB) where students are doing things not very different than this guy, the lab has a close relationship with SMART technologies (the Calgary digital whiteboard company). Who knows maybe the next generation of this stuff will come from Alberta...
