It’s a bit of a joke, but I am so impressed with Rasmussen’s season this far, that I’m going to give him spotlight he deserved.
Kovalchuk leads league is scoring (8 pts in 4 games) with Rasmussen 1 points behind. But Kovalchuk is no team player at all, as he has –4 despite playing on strong Bruins team. Rasmussen, who played on lousy Devils and Hawks, is +5. Rasmussen is league’s biggest star as he leads the whole league in star points. Kovalchuk enjoys tones of opportunities, as he leads league in shots. Rasmussen used only two shots in two games to score two goals for Hawks. I don’t know how it was in Devils, but in Hawks Rasmussen never played on top line. Both forwards scored at least once at every single game they’ve played.
So, Kovalchuk MAYBE has the edge on offence, but Rasmussen is way better all-around player. I would take Rasmussen over Kovalchuk any day of the week.
