-Sarah Polley. I expected her to be a little snotty but she was actually quite nice.
-Weird Al. He lived up to the name. It was uncomfortable.
-Mr. Dressup
-Dan Boyle when he brought the cup to Ottawa after they won. I didn't actually meet him though. Just saw him. I was afraid I would say something mean to him if I did. He seemed nice though, gave everyone autographs and posed for pics when asked.

Peter Maher (does he count?)- friend of a friend of my dad's, met him a few times, took me up the broadcast booth with him a few years ago to sit next to him while he broadcasted an exhibition game vs Ottawa.... one of the coolest experiences I've ever had.

Samuel L. Jackson- strolling down the street two weeks ago..

Jerry Seinfeld- in England... which was weird..

Gordie Howe- in high school, he came to Scarlett to shoot a Canadian Tire commercial.

not that spectacular a list I guess...

my family has met a few though. My grandma accidentally walked into Will Smith in Las Vegas, and he apologised, said excuse me maam and continued on. After that my grandma was always in love with that guy. What a smooth operator!

I happened to be in an elevator (at the Macdonald Hotel in Edmonchuk, booooo) with a withered Allanah Myles in 2001. Unfortunately she was far too big a star to say hello to me but I did say hello to her. Her Fabio-wannabe boyfriend scowled at me. I can't really blame him though. I was wearing tequila-breath and a cheap suit. He was sporting a leather jacket avec tassles and teeth whitened by, I'm sure, Black Velvet.

I met Bret Hart at my High School graduation.
I met Darr Maqbool(sp?) a couple of times.
I met Al Duerr at Calaway Park haha.
Mike Vernon, Gary Roberts, Doug Gilmour at Food for Less in Whitehorn.
Jarome Iginla, Kiprusoff and lots of current Flames after Flames games.
I saw Henry Burris hammered at Mynt one night. He was yelling at the bouncer for making him stand in the normal person line LOL.
I talked to Ed Whalen on the phone once.
I saw Matthew Perry at the Saddledome.
I met Don Cherry/Ron McLean as they were leaving the Saddledome. I also met Hrudey and Scott Oake.

And finally, I never met him but I was about 1KM away from Zidane when my train moved past Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadium in Stuttgart. I thought that was kinda cool.

Hi Y'all. I am new here. I used to work at the Showcase Grand downtown so I saw many celebrities.

Clint Eastwood - came in during the filming of Unforgiven. Nice guy, very quiet.
Christopher Reeve - before the accident. total #$%hole. The box office girl didn't know who he was, and wouldn't let him in free. He threw a fit.
John Candy - very friendly guy
Eric Lindros - got really mad at our box office girl as she tried to figure out who he was. he came back a few minutes later and apologized.

Quite often when one meets celebrities they dissapoint but I had occasion to have a meeting with Ed Whalen a few years before he passed away and he was as classy and as genuine a guy as you could ever meet. A true thrill.

I had a good talk with Joe Clark one time. A real nice guy, but of course a politician should come across that way.

Adam Sandler - Talked to him for a few mins in NYC, outside Rockafeller Plaza. Extremely nice dude, talked about his comedy album and shooting a movie in Vancouver (Happy Gilmore). Farley was with him.

Had a beer with Al MacInnes, but that story has been told.
Met too many politicians, mostly in BC ,which is why I moved back to Alberta. Sat in the Premier's office when he was just a mayor.

But i do cherish the night in the Flames owners box, scoville side and watching five minutes of hockey with Normie Kwong in the owners lounge on a big tv. circa 93
I was there with a past president of ZELLERS, big deal.

I do have, in my immediate family,... distant cousins actually working in the music industry.
The kids; that were forced to listen to my Deep Purple and
Blue Oyster Cult albums are sought out ,lighting and sound techs.
They never invited me into there debauchery! So I haven't really met the people they met,but ,it is amazing that famous people are talked about.

Like c'mon ,do you think that "famous" people are any different than you or your friends.
You too can be famous !!

Glen Sather - Talked to him for a bit while wearing a Flames hat before his last season with the Oilers.
Kelly Hrudey - Exchanged hello's in the Calgary International Airport. Seemed like a nice guy from the 1 second or so we exchanged glances. lol
Anaheim Mighty Ducks - Shared a flight with the team from LA to Vancouver in what was their 1st or 2nd season I think. Got a couple autographs.
Alec Baldwin - Walked by him at the Calgary Airport
Home Improvement Cast - Watched the filming of an episode in LA. Said hello to the Canadian guy with the beard (can't remember his name) and Wilson (guy who never showed his face) outside the set.
Others - I've also seen quite a few other NHL players and celebrities at the Calgary Airport and in Vancouver and LA, but not too up close so not worth mentioning names there.

So far though, I'd say meeting Adam Sandler and Chris Farley wins hands down as the coolest people to meet in this thread. I envy Krysky for that.

I met James Woods at a house party a few years ago and he gave me advice on how to buy a large-screen TV.

- Met Metallica
- Went to the same high school as Jordin Tootoo a year before he went to Brandon and although we never had a conversation we said hi to each other many times.
- Got the autograph of many NHLers when the Jets still existed and my one trip to Calgary for a couple games but I cant list them all. I believe it was 2000 when I saw the Flames play and got every autograph except Vernon, Bure, and Petrovicky(he had a hurt hand so he couldnt sign autographs). As far as autographs in Winnipeg I do remember Yzerman, Cheveldae, Otto, and Niewendyk. There's probably more but I cant think of them. I know I never met Fleury and had to get my sister to get his autograph one of the games she went to and she said he was a complete *******.

I was on a flight from Rome to Frankfurt. On the bus that shuttles you from the plane to the terminal I looked over and noticed I was sharing a seat with Danny Devito.

Michaellle Jean (Governor General) in a restaurant in Montreal.

Paul Martin and Jean Chretien (when he was still PM) in Ontario when they were on the campaign trail.

Theo Fleury. When I was a kid I'd see him driving his sports car in McKenzie (where I lived) -- I think it was a Viper, but don't remember for sure.
