I was looking through some of my old bookmarks in order to clean out the ones I don't need anymore, and I discovered a few gems that I thought others might find useful or interesting. I'm sure others have some good ones too, so let's see'em.

Here are my top 5 (in no particular order):

http://www.nationmaster.com/index.php

Contains countless statistics on countries and geographic regions. You can find almost any kind of information about any country.

http://www.freeinfosociety.com/

Tonnes of obscure, interesting, and sometimes usefull information. From cooking recipes, to street fighting guides.

http://www.timeanddate.com/

Has currency converters, and clocks for pretty much every major centre in the world.

http://altervistas.com/

Good for a laugh once in a while. It's a catalogue of bizarre and humourous websites. Click on "Random Site".

http://www.allmusic.com/

I've been introduced to a lot of good music through this site. You can search for practically any band, and it will list comparable genres and artists. It's fun to just surf around until you find something interesting.

http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL/Calgary/home.html

-It's basically a link to all the Calgary Sun Sports articles refering to the Calgary Flames. I used to only buy the paper to read the sports section but now I don't have to buy it anymore.

http://www.imdb.com/

-Internet Movie Data Base. It has interesting information on pretty much every movie ever made. I'm not a big movie buff or anything but the Trivia section for each movie is interesting.

http://www.nhlpa.com/

-Good link for all salary information. Also, when we signed Ference this was the first site to show it. Not in article form but under the Flames team list it just showed his new salary before I saw it reported anywhere else.

http://www.wclc.com/

-Link to the pro-line odds to see if it's even worth betting on the games of the day or not.

http://spectorshockey.tripod.com/spe...e_rumours.html
http://v2.hockeybuzz.com/blogworld/

-Two trade rumor sites. I find both amusing but that's about it. Eklund most people are familiar with and Spector provides links to the basis of most rumors.

This is a great, great, music resource. As you said, it can be used as a tool to discover new music, old music, and everything in between. It's a great place to check if you're looking for info on a musician who you know nothing about and are wondering where to start.

Aside from this site I peruse www.fark.com, www.somethingawful.com, and I love losing myself in wikipedia.

But that's about it.

www.wrestlecrap.com for you wrestling fans out there. A great place to talk about angles, storylines, shoots, works, and indy fed news. Plus a great list of all the crappy things ever conceived and performed in the squared circle.

www.rom-world.com has a great collection of old computer and console games, with absolutely no popups. Good for time killing.

And the best hockey site? http://www.forecaster.ca/thestar/hockey/index.cgi . Has the best statistics and record keeping around, and has in-depth analyses of each team.
