Default Vote!

Polls open at 7:30am and close at 7:30pm.

So VOTE. As a citizen, I don't give a flying fata about who you vote for or why, I just want you to give a damn about your country enough to decide who gets to run it until the next election...likely in another 18 months.

Seriously, though. VOTE. All you need is your Voter Information Card or, if you don't have that, your driver's license. Go in, have your say.

After all, you shouldn't really complain unless you voted.

I second this. Get off your lazy asses! Head to the polls before work, at lunch, after work! The polling stations are all conveniently located on your daily commute!

Locate your polling station:

Above, the Elections Canada poll locator. Toss in your postal code and it'll tell your ass where to vote!

Voted already this morning. If you don't vote, then shut up about the government. Voting gives you complaining rights.

I've never understood the anger that people who vote have towards people who don't vote. Why should somebody who doesn't care in the least about politics and hasn't been following the issues be obligated to vote? I say that if you don't care, then stay the hell away from the polls and leave voting to those who know what they're doing. Democracy is not well served by people who mark off a random box on their ballot.

That right there is the attitude that ****es people off.
If you want to be a part of canadian socitety and reap the benefits of being a citizen, than you should feel obligated to keep up with the issues, and care about who is getting elected.

I think it's safe to say that people don't get upset because people who don't care don't vote, I think it's more the fact that people don't care that upsets people.

When people say that many people have died for our right to vote, it often sounds cliche, but it really isn't.

You say you don't care? Well would you care if you lived under a dictator who decided to take away all of your rights?

Just because things are peacefull and running relatively smoothly isn't an excuse to not care and take an active role in your country, and ultimately your own life.

It's not a right.. it's a responsibility! GET OUT AND VOTE! If you don't know anything about the parties or the MPs, it's your RESPONSIBILITY to know. Besides if you know the party you know the MP. SO VOTE!

They also fought for our freedom. Therefore we should have the freedom to choose whether we want to vote or not and not be criticized for it.

I was at my polling station at 7:35 this morning and it was quite busy actually. Good sign, I think.

9:30 am. My vote was cast.
Good day to vote too. Was able to sleep in - my Monday off. Beautiful outside if you can walk to your polling station. Hockey tonight. Stopped at the store to get the paper and a scratch ticket - won $20.00.
Good things are gonna happen today.

Way to pawn the responsibility off to everyone else.
They fought so you could vote, so you owe it to them and everyone else to go ahead and vote. Freedome aint' free. Some people fight for it, and some of us don't have to do a whole lot for it, so when the opportunity comes along to do our part, we should feel obligated to do so.

People that don't get it and say it's my choice will never get it, and are either selfish, lazy, or apathetic.

Put in some effort, learn the issues, learn the candidates, vote for the one that best represents you, and if none of them do, then do something about it. It's the least you can do.

I hate the old "None of the candidates represent me 100%". What a copp out. No candidate represents anyone 100% but themselves, and even then not necessarily as they may only believe in the party 99% but they'll have to vote with the party.

That's what democracy is bout, compromise.
People that don't vote want all the advantages of democracy but none of the responsibility, and I'd be willing to bet they're usually the first to complain.
