New Ad Provider

FYI Bingo has onboarded a new ad provider for the site. It does prompt to ask for cookies, that's what that's from.

If you see anything that breaks the site or is unusual you can post screen shots / descriptions here and I'll pass this thread link onto Bingo.

"1555 partners" is an oddly specific number of companies "borrowing" my data, but I guess I can appreciate the transparency, especially with showing the name of the cookie being used for tracking.

Me too! But only on mobile. Super frustrating.

I assume that's in the forum and not on the main site? Or maybe both?

They recommended clearing the cookies for the site and the cache (beware that you'll have to log in again so make sure you know your password and/or have your correct email address setup), so could give that a try and see if it reoccurs.

They also mentioned a server side setting that I can increase so I will look at that too.

I haven't had any problems and am finding the ads less intrusive. This is on Android using Chrome if that helps anyone.

Yeah just the forum
I goggled the error which suggested clearing everything which I did last night and it didn’t resolve the issue
But tonight it seems to be working

Ok I've updated a setting in the server web server to see if it helps, let me know if you continue to see it.

Cleared cache and cookies on mobile. Still happening for me about 80% of the time. Sometimes I can get forum main page and a few pages of a thread and then I'll click a different page and it errors out. Other times I can't even get the forum main page. Using Chrome/Android.

Hm I increased the setting again let me know if anything changes (even if it decreases the occurrences or takes a few more page views to kick in).

I'm not 100% convinced it's actually an issue with our server in the first place but might as well try, and then if it doesn't work then we can engage the ad provider since it seems that it would be an issue with their system since that's what's changed.

There is a very noticeable extra 3-5 second lag in loading pages. Is that these ads.
