Can anyone suggest where to get classical records in Calgary. Preferably new, but good used is OK. I've been giving my son one classic record every year and now it's time for some classical.

I'd be interested, as well.

I've never shopped there personally, but I think I might check it out this week.

In store they have maybe 20 albums, mostly old greatest hits type

Waste of time. Recordland has 100+ but nothing exciting for me (I’m specifically looking for Schubert or Rachmaninov piano works).

It’s sad that there’s nowhere to get decent classical albums, though tbf it’s only 5-10% of what I listen to so I’m hardly supporting the genre.

What do you mean by classical? As in classic rock? If so Turn It Up has it in spades… if you mean classical music then you are right… Turn it up is great for Modern, classic rock, metal and punk…

No doubt, Turn it up seems like an awesome store for many genres. Just not our great great grandparent’s music. TBF no store in the city caters to those folks anymore. You die for a few hundred years and everyone ignores you!

Used to be a store that only sold classical records near the old Planetarium. Probably gone?

I get my son a classic album every Christmas since he got a turntable, starting with Kind of Blue. I was hoping for a good classical album but settled for a $5 Rachmaninov and a mint Marvin Gaye.

Huh...well...seeing this now, I can ask my mom? She and my late father have a bunch, most of it is in German and Russian though.

Want me to ask?
