Default Let’s Talk - skiing communication headsets

Anybody have these to use with their family on the hill? My socials are being targeted right now for these headsets that can be used (without phones) to chat while on the hill.

Thoughts?

Brand recommendations?

Sounds like an open invitation to your secret santa to choose on your behalf...

Well that would be nice but the ones I’m being fed are about 200/each! If Santa wants to do that then great but I’d say it’s a bit beyond, lol!

My interest was peaked, but then all I could think of is my wife telling me to slow down for the whole run instead of just at the bottom of the lift.

Let's not.

Just ski. No additional technology is needed to dilute the experience.

Only communication needed - first one down at end of day orders first pitcher of beer.

But think of the benefit of me being able to tell mg kids to slow down the whole run instead of juat at the bottom.

Hate this idea, love skiing for the fact I can just sort of zone out and get in a rythym.

My 18 yr old nephew from Denver was up last year

We were at Sunshine having a great day.

At 11:30 I told him let's go in early for beer and nachos.

We hit trappers and get a table.

I tell him I gotta piss.

I come back and he is sitting there with a beer, without ordering his uncle a beer.

A lesson was provided.

If he's 18 and from the 'land of the free' he's probably never legally ordered a beer.

I have a couple old Motorola handled radios like everyone used for years before cell coverage, you can have 'em, but they probably need batteries which would be easy enough to find on Amazon.

It looks like those are only bluetooth? Not sure Surferguy's use case, but they'd only be useful if you are skiing together, not to find each other on distant parts of the hill. But maybe he doesn't want to abandon his kids like in the before times.

I don’t want to spoil this but ordering a beer legally at 18 in Canada feels the exact same as ordering a beer with a fake ID at 18 in the US.

Did you heed that lesson to be less of a c-word? Missed out on a beer due to your ways.
