I went with Zairubin - mostly to make Bingo happy logistically but also i think a 2nd goalie belongs in top 20
King and Wyttenbach are my other 2 in this tier while I sort out my next 5

King over Morton due to better college pedigree and upside. Morton will likely play some for the Flames this year but at his age the clock is ticking as a legit prospect. Hopefully King is able to quickly establish himself as a pro and get on the path to being more than a tweener in a couple seasons.

Other than Ciona, Grushnikov and Poirier I don’t really know anything about the remaining prospects.

Not buying the King hype. The Taco has no beef, no spice and a soft shell.
Zarubin may very well be the organization's goalie of the future.

Grushnikov for me. I think he may become a bottom pair hard-hitting defenseman for many years.

Went with Morton. Think he makes the team out of camp.

Wyttenbach could be a steal in the 5th round. Most of the rest have the upside of a 4th liner or a bottom pairing defenseman.

Went with King.

The Morton vs. King debate is a good one I think, as there's a 4th line center spot open for someone to grab.
Both had pretty similar production in college and have arrived to the pros as undrafted college free agents. Both are of similar builds physically, so really no distinction there.
Morton has the edge coming into camp, with a really solid first season in the AHL under his belt, and one game at the end of the year in the NHL to whet his appetite.
However, if you're looking for the qualities of a prototypical 4th line center, the better long term prospect is likely King. I think a season or two in the AHL and he'll have a great shot at locking that spot down with the big club long term.

Went with Poirier. I think he’ll be an NHLer, even if not with the Flames.

Where I come from, that’s borderline blasphemy. NOBODY doesn’t like a good Taco.

Small sample size, but King was ppg in the playoffs for the Wranglers. Even though it was only 2 games, it is rare for a late season signing to touch the ice in the playoffs for the AHL team which is a clue to where his development is at.

The only thing holding me back from picking him at this point is that he will be 24 years old before the start of the season. Not a lot of runway compared to guys more recently drafted.

I think King has 3rd line potential, with a solid chance to get there.
Poirier has 2nd pairing potential, with a solid chance to get there.
Zarubin was perhaps the best goalie of his draft according to some, so may be a starting goalie.
Yegorov has starting goalie potential.
Matveiko is the biggest mystery box for me. I think I am going to have to start digging into him, as I have no clue whatsoever about this kid.
I still see a number of third line - maybe even a couple of second line - forwards left. Maybe some bottom 4 - at least bottom pairing - defencemen left. A number of prospects that I still like.

Just about time for the goalies, and I like Grushnikov and Wyttenbach, but I'm craving a taco first

Went Grushnikov again. How has he fallen so far from last year? Last year he was 12th.

Not a knock against him, a testament to the prospect pool. Looking at last years ranking, his drop is simply because of some fantastic D+1 seasons for several players, new picks/signings, and some big movement by AHL players like Kerins.
