Default Ron MacLean is a dirtbag!!!

https://torontosun.com/news/local-ne...-exit-strategy

Now Maclean is gutlessly coming out with a story that Don Cherry orchestrated his exit from HNIC. You are a real piece of work, Maclean!!! I'm embarrassed that the Flames gave you your break in hockey broadcasting.

Ron needs to be off the air. He should’ve stepped down alongside Cherry.

I think we can just move on from both of them.

Cherry, well, that ship has sailed.

MacLean has worn out his welcome by about 15 years. The first Rogers deal should've been it for him, and we'd remember him as a legend rather than the hack he turned into

Ron Maclean is the most uncontroversial, vanilla, mammas boy I think I've ever seen on TV. I've never been remotely interested in anything he's ever said. He rode Don Cherries coat tails for decades and owes him everything he's ever achieved. Just a corporate shill that suits Rogers to a T.

The sad thing was Cherry’s son using him as a meal ticket until well past the point where Cherry should have retired.

Ron and Don were done 20 years ago. Why anyone cares what they still say or do is beyond me. It is unfortunate that CBC has kept Ron around after wisely parting with Don (whether he orchestrated it or not).

What a weird story to make up. Like Don was that calculated and didn’t just speak off the cuff constantly.

Cherry was well past his expiry but if MacLean really felt that way about Cherry all those years what does it say about his character that he had no issues sitting next to him every Saturday evening for years as long as it fed the machine? Cherry's already into the sunset but Ron needs to join him as well.

Quote:
“It was a bit clumsy, but it was the right outcome,” MacLean told award-winning sportswriter Gare Joyce. “Ultimately, that’s what needed to happen. It was liberating. Don needed out and the time was right. (Remembrance Day) was his last swing, taking a stance that’s unpopular, but that feels good in his world.”

lmao no one cares about any of this; Don Cherry was a dinosaur twenty years ago and he's a fossil now, Ron McLean is a dopey little dweeb who's folky need to tie every story into some sweet Canadiana is beyond annoying.

The author of this opinion piece, Joe Warmington, has been carrying water for his idol Don Cherry for years now. He's a fedora wearing dork who thinks everything be brings up THE WOKE MOB he's being interesting.
