Flames 2025/2026 Calgary Flames Schedule

I understand the schedule release is still a week or two away, which is a week or two later than most seasons. Apparently Francis has seen the schedule and describes the Flames schedule to begin the season as Murderers' Row.

Calgary Flames have "Murderers' Row" schedule to begin next season: report | Sports https://share.google/pFsmyGBIZ26MdjL7P

This could be interesting.

Better to know if our guys have it in them to get a momentous head start or fall flat. If we falter at the very beginning of the season, you might start to see some players hit the block like Coleman and then Backlund come January 1st.

Ya but it’s Francis. I’m sure it’s some combination of Edmonton/Dallas/Colorado/Vegas/winnipeg to start the season. But it might just be 3 or 4 games.

He’s in the business of hyperbole.

To me, a murderers row would be the Bolts, Panthers, Hurricanes trip to start the year.

Murderer's Row would probably be a good thing anyway - the best time to play the top teams is early in the season, before they get rolling.

Also, Francis' definition of Murderer's Row is probably not the same as mine.

Predict Doom Formula

Season start badly: "See? I was right along."

Flames do moderately well... "Team is surprising everyone... including me!"

We've signed nobody of note in free agency, and look to be at best a bubble playoff team once again. A tough start that puts us way out of the playoff picture is the best possible scenario. Sell off as many veterans as we can for whatever draft picks we can get for them.

If the schedule is set, why are they waiting until mid-July to release it?

Is it because the longer they wait, the more flights to Calgary would cost, and in turn screw me out of seeing the Flames in person?

Not saying the NHL is conspiring to screw me personally... but if they are, I can respect that.

NFL model of being in the news as long as possible when not playing.

Sure hope the Flames make a video like last year. Thank you Tigers!!! Again

I'm a fan of playing murderers row to start the schedule. Makes it plausible the flames get thrashed and never find their mojo in a year McKenna is available

Any team can beat any other team on any given night. Play to win, and try to win one game at a time. Winners never quit. If everyone gives 110% good things will happen.

Maybe the NHL is trying to ensure we get a decent shot at McKenna with the new arena opening in a couple of years.

Its actually easier to play the "hard" teams early...we also don't really know who the hard teams are yet.

I don't think the Oilers and Panthers had good records to start last season

It’s Francis, so take that with a grain of salt… but good. Bring it on. Let’s see where we are at as soon as possible so we can pivot from there.

Already excited for the season!

Colorado and Edmonton had terrible starts. The Panthers did alright. Most contenders still had pretty good records after 14GP.

Contenders to start last year(W-L-OT):
COL: Start: 0-4-0; 14GP: 6-8-0
DAL: Start: 4-0-0; 14GP: 9-5-0
EDM: Start: 0-3-0; 14GP: 6-7-1
VGK: Start: 3-0-0; 14GP: 9-3-2
WPG: Start: 8-0-0; 14GP: 13-1-0
---
CAR: Start: 2-2-0; 14GP: 11-3-0
FLA: Start: 3-2-1; 14GP: 10-3-1
TBL: Start: 3-0-0; 14GP: 7-6-1
TOR: Start: 3-2-0; 14GP: 7-5-2
WSH: Start: 5-1-0; 14GP: 10-4-0

Don’t they have to play all the same teams anyways? Wouldn’t that make it so the rest of their schedule is easier? The team also was supposed to have a very difficult schedule and fall back at several points last season. Just a sports writer without any stories to write.

Murderer's Row? Is Craig McTavish coming out of retirement to play with the Oilers?
