One awesome thing about all these 8 x 6 (or thereabouts) contracts is that the Oilers were giving out 7 x 7s YEARS before the Cap could sustain them…and now that other teams are getting good value under a rising cap, the Oil are instead handing out 8 x 10s, plus! ��

I think this is a great deal for Stankoven as well. Not 100% sure yet where he grows to as a NHL player yet, he solidifies his financial future in hockey and still has a chance for a big payday on the other side.

You put him higher up and on the PP (which this contract suggests he will be) and watch him improve those numbers hugely.
