Devils Offseason
The season did not end the way we had hoped. Coming off a championship, we wanted to repeat and was very disappointed losing in the 1st round after a very good regular season. I knew I had a lot to work on in this off season with some salary cap issues and re-signing some key players.
With that being said, we have a major trade to announce. The Devils have acquired Matthew Tkachuk.

Obviously it looks like I am mortgaging the future a bit here which is accurate but over the last few years I have been able to build a bit of a stockpile of very good prospects:
- Jake O'Brien
- Simon Edvinsson
- Konsta Helenius
- Scott Morrow
- Terik Parascak
- Oliver Moore
Draft Recap
#7 - Jake O'Brien - I originally had the 9th overall pick but as I was doing my research I saw that #7 was the cliff so I got aggressive trying to acquire somewhere in that 1-7 range. Ultimately I sent out 25 and 9 to move up 2 spots. O'Brien is a very intriguing prospect, his playmaking skills are elite and has the physical frame to be a very good prospect. He is a pretty decent skater but needs to build on the frame which will improve his skating. Another bonus in acquiring this pick was I had no concern with any of the top 7 so whoever fell to me I was happy with.
