James Bond under Amazon control
After a few years of wrangling, James Bond is now under the creative control of MGM-Amazon ( https://gizmodo.com/james-bond-amazo...son-2000566118). Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson whose family had control of the movies are basically retiring (my translation - dump trucks full of money arrived at their houses).
Hopefully this doesn't go the way of Disney/Star Wars.

A bond TV series could actually be good but it should be HBO.
I don't trust Amazon original content, very rarely is it decent.

The Amazon Jack Ryan series is awful, like they don't even understand what the character is, so I'm betting they'll make a terrible Bond too.

Not all of them are bad. Reacher is an Amazon series, and that show rules.

I dont know what to think of this.
Amazon has the resources to make this amazing or...they could screw it up amazingly.
It could realistically go either way.

I remember when those resources were going to make an incredible Lord of the Rings show. That turned into a very expensive turd.

The Boys, Gen V, Fallout, Upload, Invincible, Good Omens; they have some good stuff. The Lord of the Rings series had a rough start but started to find itself in the last half of season two IMO. Most studios have the resources to make an IP amazing.. or screw it up amazingly, amazon is no different.

MMF is the tough as nails cop that "plays by his own rules". The force keeps suspending him when he crosses the line but he keeps coming back and then cracks a big case.

Bonds should remain in movie format.
Unless it's done tastefully in a limited series style like the Night Manager.

Mission Impossible needs to prove that it has a life beyond Tom Cruise before there can really be a debate on this. Though I think the best MI movies are as good as the best Bond movies.

Nah, they're good movies but their ultimate legacy was ruining action moves for over a decade with everyone adopting that super close in shaky-cam fight scenes where you can't tell anything that's happening.

Plus they made two forgettable sequels, with Jason Bourne being almost unwatchable. a .600 batting average is lower than Mission Impossible's .857. The only bad Mission Impossible movie is MI:2 which is funny, as so many movies have copycatted the nerve gas plot.
