Flames Pelts back with the big club?

@FriedgeHNIC

Looks like Jakob Pelletier gets another shot in Calgary…scratched yesterday for AHL Wranglers.

Cleared waivers this year…19 points in 20 AHL games

Yep, sounds like him and Duehr up, Klapka down. They'll probably be at practice this morning. I'd imagine we'll also get an update on Kirkland.

Yeah Scorp confirmed it yesterday.
Could be Pelletier's final opportunity in Calgary. Make it count young man!

I would have rather seen Stromgren or Morton. Pelletier doesn't bring much and we know what he is.

Kerins would have been interesting too.

Duehr is a waste of time IMO. We know what he is at this level. Glad he's excelling in the AHL, and I'll gladly eat my words, but I doubt it.

I'm really curious about this guy. Not so much that he would get a chance and kill it out of the gates, but if his uphill, clawing-his-way journey can reach the pinnacle of professional hockey even just for a cup of tea.

Low risk low reward call ups.

Earned, but pretty known entities at this point.

Hopefully Pelletier can change some minds and carve out a place on the roster.

Ugh...more French people...the last thing this team needs!

Kidding aside, take this opportunity and run with it! I'd love to see him succeed.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

I would 100% love to see Pelts succeed. He got derailed a little by injuries, so hopefully he can make the most of his opportunity.

I haven't watched him this year but his point production seems good. Why not give him a try? I'm sure he's hungry for some level of success.

He's a tough one to gauge. He's been a garbage man in the AHL this season, scoring almost all of his goals from around the blue paint. He's a guy that has benefitted greatly from the work of others to put up some goals. I'm not sure his game translates to the NHL.

A guy who gets to the front of the net? Worth a a shot.

A slight winger who shies away from contact? Seen it.

A guy with size who doesn't use it? Seen it.

There is plenty of time to confirm who is and who is not

Pelt is on a short leash, probably his last chance before exiting the organization if he doesn’t show something

Getting to the front of the net seems to be a lot easier in the AHL. Nothing against Kerins as I really haven’t watched the AHL this year so I can’t comment, but I trust the Flames with who they bring up and who they don’t.

Everyone was clamouring for Phillips because of his production but he amounted to absolutely nothing in the NHL.

Thats fair, my point though is no one on the Flames is doing that now. Even Steinberg was harping on it on Flames Talk. Even if it isn't easy for someone like Kerins, my thought is he'd at least be trying it.
