Rapid City Rush 2024-25 season
Usually there's a big turnover typical of the ECHL.
The Rush were absolutely gawd-awful last season, finishing 12th in their conference.
The Rush has announced the following 16 signed players:
Forwards (9): Tyler Burnie, Maurizio Colella, Simon Boyko, Parker Bowman, Mason McCarty, Brett Davis, Ryan Wagner, Joe Widmar, Jack Jeffers
Defensemen (6): Zack Hoffman, Aaron Hyman, Billy Constantinou, Brady Pouteau, Brenden Rons, Matt Araujo
Goaltenders (1): Christian Propp
Plus whatever the Wranglers send down to them. Probably not much in the way of legitimate prospects, but perhaps one of the goaltenders pops.

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Wranglers announced today that they have made the following roster transactions.
The following players on AHL/ECHL contracts have been assigned to the Calgary Wranglers ECHL affiliate, the Rapid City Rush:
Deni Goure (F)
Connor Mylymok (F)
Trevor Janicke (F)
Holden Wale (D)
The following seven players who attended Wranglers camp on a tryout have been released and will all be reporting to the Rapid City Rush:
Tyler Burnie (F)
Brett Davis (F)
Zack Hoffman (D)
Aaron Hyman (D)
Brady Pouteau (D)
Billy Constantinou (D)
Christian Propp (G)
The Wranglers now have three goalies, nine defencemen, and 14 forwards for a total of 26 players at camp.

The Rush were shellacked 7-1 last night in their season opener against the Tulsa Oilers. Murphy in net for all. Could be a long season in the shadow of the Black Hills.

Interesting Wranglers have been very competitive for a while now and the Rush have been awful.

Not really.
It’s essentially the Wranglers taxi squad mixed with your run of the mill lower minor leaguers.

Yea I didn't think we had anyone down there currently.
Makes the fact they are terrible less of a worry lol.

We had Ilya Nikolaev down there for 6 games last year, but besides that no one else last year or this year (so far) on NHL deals.

Took ‘em ten tries, but the Rush now have their first win of the season, defeating the KC Mavericks 5-2. Two goals in the last minute sealed the deal.
Our boy Joni Jurmo picks up an assist.

Not much happening down in South Dakota. Team is still at the bottom of the Mountain Conference.
Nikolaev has played two games, no points and a minus -1.
For some inexplicable reason, the team has come out with special edition warmup jersey to honour the old hockey Calgary Stampeders.
I realize the minor leagues are chock-a-block with cheesy gimmicks, but this one's tenuous at best.
