Peter is such an icon - so many great calls from that '04 run!

Can't believe it's been 8 years since he retired already. Legendary.

If we make a deep run I'd like it very very much if Peter was in the booth doing any kind of commentary.
I have never enjoyed listening to hockey more when Pete's making the call.

Really was a treat to listen to this Peter interview from 2 months ago. He is the GOAT of hockey commentators.

Good to see Peter Maher around the team, just good vibes and he’s a real icon too.
I also like his support for Theo, he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

That was awesome.

Colour me shocked! Shocked I tells Ya! That Edmonton would fabricate stories about Peter in the 86 playoffs.

I had no idea that Rod Pederson was living in Calgary and broadcasting his show there. He was apparently in the running for Wills play by play job to replace Peter, but had some personal problems to battle that took him out of the running.

I imagine he’s also at least an option for content or replacing Wills for the Fan960 at some point, but who know what he’s making on his current self run gig.

One interesting thing about Rod that I had no idea until the last 5 or 6 years is that his Dad was a long time scout for the Dallas Stars.

Before broadcasting Roughrider & Pats games he broadcasted for the Prince Albert Raiders. I doubt many of the players then knew his Dad was an NHL scout.

Great video, thanks for posting. Asking the question about Fleury at the end was just bizarre. He should be in the HOF because you've hung out at his house and he's a great guy? He's a lunatic! Very unprofessional of the interviewer. I'm glad to see that Peter Maher is still sharp though, I had been getting worried about him towards the end of his radio career. I've probably spent more hours listening to him than anyone else in my life.
