Report: Thome headed to White Sox
ESPN The Magazine is reporting that the Philadelphia Phillies are on the verge of sending first baseman Jim Thome to the Chicago White Sox for outfielder Aaron Rowand.
Wow, lots of baseball stuff going on this off-season....I don't know about this one, though. Rowand's nothing huge, but he's about 7 - 10 years younger than Thome...and while Thome can still put up the big #s, he's been injured...

I would think with Thome headed to the ChiSox that Paul Konerko will have a new home as well.

The A's signed Loaiza today. It might be a move to replace Zito who is being shopped by beane again. If Zito stays I will go out on a limb and say the A's will have a top 3 rotation in MLB next season. Zito, Harden, Loaiza, Blanton, and Haren. My buddies in Oakland told me there are lots of rumors floating around but its probably 50-50 of Zito being traded.

The Mets have added Billy Wagner. Good signing by the Mets who have had bullpen troubles over the past few years.

Yanks ink Farnsworth 3 years/17 million. I don't get Gillick not giving Wagner (34 years old) 4 years - but gives Gordon (38 years old) 3 years???
Great year to be a FA Relief pitcher

Im a big Mets fan and Im glad we got Delgado! Hopefully now we can get Manny Ramirez...our line up would be awesome.
Im a huge Mets fan! Bringing Delgado in is awesome... Delgado and Beltran together..there going to be amazing. Hopefully we'll get Manny Ramirez as well!
I only hate the Yanks and all the other teams in NY except for the Mets. I fell in love with them when I went to New York when I was 7 and my dad took me to a couple Mets games and I followed them ever since. Thats how I became a Mets fan.

Good move by the Yanks. At this point in time I have to think Farnsworth has more than Gordon. Once again the Yanks will be able to shorten the game to seven or fewer innings on the opponent. If you ain't got starting pitching make sure you got the guys to nail down your 9-7 lead in the late innings.

ESPN is reporting that the Marlins have dealt C Paul Lo Duca to the Mets for Gabby Hernandez and another minor pitcher to be named Later.
The fire sale continues... just to give you an idea of who is gone from their starting line up:
C: Lo Duca (traded to mets)
1B: Delgado (traded to mets)
2B: Castillo (traded to twins)
3B: Lowell (traded to red sox)
SS: Alex Gonzalez (Free Agent)
LF: Cabrera (still with the team, expected to remain)
CF: Pierre (still with the team, expects to be dealt)
RF: Encarnacion (Free Agent)
SP1: Willis (still with the team, expected to remain)
SP2: Beckett (traded to redsox)
SP3: Burnett (Free agent)
SP4: Moelher (Free agent)
SP5: Vargas (Still with the team)
Setup: Mota (traded to redsox)
CL: Todd Jones (Free Agent)
Absolutely insane what has happened to this team. Its only going to get worse.
