Games like this make me want to write this novel.

That game felt every bit like the 2nd of a back-to-back against the best team in the league and the end of a road trip.

2-2-1 on the roadtrip is fine. Time to string some wins together on the homestand and beyond.

Simply not going to win many games when your top players are playing like boat anchors.

2-2-1 on the road trip as this year’s Flames team continues to define itself as absolutely average.

- Gaudreau certainly seems to be yelling at his line mates a lot as of late
- Rare bad game from Giordano
- Hamonic did not play well
- Talbot wasn’t very good
- Kylington and Andersson are both quite good
- Bennett had a good game
- Washington likes to dive, and the refs like to suck

Frustrating game. Some bad mistakes ending up in our net, Flames flubbing on some good chances.. Just one of those nights. 3rd game in 4 nights against a good team, not easy.

biggest issue is the lack of any real one time threats at forward. a guy like Daniel Sprong would go a long way imho

I'd love to package Monahan + a first and Jankowski for Hall and a third.

I didn't mind the effort on a back to back. Just one of those games where it wasn't meant to be. No shame losing to a team like the Caps.

2-2-1 on the hardest road trip of the season

Not bad, lots to build on

Wilson is a sleaze. The refs suck.

Gifted the caps 2 of 4 remaining minutes when it should have been 2 for diving

Wish the NHL would hold players accountable

I'm not blaming Talbot for the loss at all. But he needs to stop at least one of those super low percentage high angle short side shots. He does not give me confidence

Ended the road trip 2-2-1. We have the most road trip games played in the NHL, now we have a 4 game home stand coming up. Hoping Gaudreau and Monahan can find their game while at the Saddledome where they play best.

Solid effort. The Flames are snakebitten right now, and the Caps are firing on all cylinders.

Also, the refs are flat out ridiculous. The team is really fighting an uphill battle right now (not that the PP would score anyway).

everything that can go wrong pretty much did go wrong that game. they probably deserved at least a point. to get no points from in 2 games against a team that both vancouver and edmonton beat does not look great. they better not take kylington out for stone next game.

Because you know what’s better than having a 70-80 point centre?

Having no centres at all!

That was bleh

5 and 13 had probably their roughest games of the year, even when they’re not on the scoresheet they’re usually defending well and generating chances, respectively, but neither of that tonight

Kylington looked great, need more of that

Carlson has the Norris on lockdown, he made one mistake all game and several tremendous plays

No goalie stops Eller’s shot

Maybe another goalie controls the breakaway rebound better, and doesn’t slide in to the net leaving the gap at the post, but that is debatable, and happened real quick
