trading someone quickly after signing him would give you a warning in NHL19 that this could harm your chances of signing UFAs in the future. Not that Edmontons chances of luring UFAs could get any lower.

I wonder if this is a precursor to something else, because their defensive depth is atrocious.
Then again, it seems like that's been the saying for going on a decade now.

TBH I think this is a holdover from the older games where they had GM Rep. I don't believe it actually does anything in NHL 19, other than warn you LOL

It was announced yesterday that Jakub Jerabek was "released." Rumours he had an NHL or home clause. So him not making the NHL team (of the Oiler's no less) is really on him and the St. Louis Blues give him another shot.
Wonder if this has any bearing on Kulak. Either the Blues know they didn't get the claim in, or that a team like the Blues would rather give up a potential 5th rounder for Jerabek instead of claiming Kulak for free.
