Default The Ponda Curse Ends Tonight (8:00PM MDT on SN1 and SN360)

As I have spent all season going off about, the Flames win tonight in Anaheim. How do I know this? It's my Birthday today!! YAY 42! The answer to Life, The Universe, And Everything.

So clearly we can extrapolate a 4-2 final score for the Flames.

So it is written, so it shall be.

SWEET! Happy Birthday! I hope it is a great one

Go go Gen X'ers, and of course, GO FLAMES!

P.S. How did we get cursed anyway? Did someone break 783578237859253 mirrors back in 2004?

This would be the perfect game of the three on the coast to rest players that are dinged up.

Uh no. Ending the curse would be important for this team mentally, especially since they just lost to the ducks at home and might be looking at them as a first round matchup. I want the best line up out there for this one. 2 more games after this one to rest guys.

Unless you think it's a foregone conclusion that the flames lose, to which I say booooo. Booooo on you for having no faith. You and Scorpion both.

Would have been even better if your birthday was on April 2nd instead of the 4th.

Way back in a "Who is going to score 5 goals" thread I called Bennett in this game. Sorry Lanny but you're gonna have to turn 52.

5-2 is good.
Same score as playoff win there in 2006 (was there) to close the book on more than a decade of futility in that barn.

Of course I have no faith. It's been what ten years now that they have lost every game in that building and they just got handled at home by the Ducks. Mentally I can't think of anything worse than going in there playing a good game and losing like they always do. At least resting players is a build in excuse for losing. I've often thought that the best way to end the streak was to call up some of the top performing Heat players and throw them in with little expectations and maybe some excitement in the dressing room from excited young players not tainted by the curse could get one of those surprising performances.

It was hinted by the coach that some players may sit out and why not this game? They beat the Sharks last week and that's a possible winnable game. The Kings are eliminated and have nothing to play for so that should be winnable. After seeing all the cheap shots by the Ducks on Sunday I feel it's a game that you could sit out Johnny or any other players that may be nursing any injuries as if any player gets hurt from a dirty play in the last three games it may be this one. It's a foregone conclusion now that the team is going to be one of the two wildcards so whether it be the Hawks or the Ducks I think you want to ensure the roster starting the playoffs is as rested and healthy as possible. If the Flames face the Ducks in the opening round then that's when you would want the team to go into that building and blow their wad, not in a somewhat meaningless regular season game.

I know there are multiple interpretations of what "42" means in that book, but this is my favorite.

Winning tonight for me is going to be secondary to staying healthy against these lumberjacks.

I would be fine with blowing the rest of our call ups, going with a bare bones line up and treating the Ducks to a hefty dose of their own slashing medicine.
