Hayne's Top 50 Flames of all time

Opinions?
Willi Plett should have garnered at least an honourable mention.
Giordano over Robyn Regehr?

Of course Gio over Regehr. Captain, two time all star, and way more points.

50 is too many. Should only be 25 as the list begins to get too generous.

Vernie should be ahead of Kipper for what he did for this franchise.

Yeah, 50 is too many, too many random guys at the end. Do we really need guys who only played 2 seasons worth of games on a list like this?
Stephan Yelle should be on the list though, and Gelinas should be higher if only solely for the 04 playoffs.

Vernon was good, but I feel he gets too much credit. Probably due to the fact that he is actually from Calgary.

For a top 50 list, I feel Titov should have cracked it too. His top 10 look pretty good though.

Carey Wilson is too high.
Don't think I would have Mike Bullard on there, not a Flame long enough.
Timmy Hunter should be ahead of Tonelli, not sure I would include Tonelli..
Derek Morris? meh
Wouldn't have Phaneuf top 20 either.

lol @ #36. A few CPers are gonna be triggered reading that list.
Top 50 is too much for sure. At least with 25 there could be some debate as to who was deserving.

Yeah. I thought it was questionable to have Bouwmeester higher than Brodie when I feel that Brodie has already made a larger and more positive impact on the Flames.
I would swap Brodie and Bouwmeester around.

I was never sold on Titov. Maybe he would have been better had he come along 3 years earlier when the Flames had better players to work with Titov.

I would put Reinhart right behind Gilmour - he was a highly skilled and versatile player. A real difference maker when he was in the line up (He did have some injury issues)
I also think Chouinard should be ranked higher - maybe low 20's.

Agreed with Wilson but I can see why somebody may rank him higher than most. In his first full NHL season he was 2 points shy of having a point per game. Then his next year he was 1 goal shy of 30. He had a great start to his career and he did it in Calgary.
Side note on Carey Wilson. I remember the confusion that was created when he was traded because Lane MacDonald was also traded away and plenty of people were in a panic that the Flames traded Lanny McDonald.
I also agree with Hunter of Tonelli, but I would include Tonelli. I remember the buzz when the Flames acquired him. He was a key player in the '86 Stanley Cup drive.

Morris over Brodie is funny.
Housley is too low. Bouwmeester is about right.
Glencross is a tad low.
A little surprised that Rene Bourque isn't at least an honourable mention. I didn't like him that much, but he sure scored a lot when he was here. If Glencross is there, and Moss is an HM...
I also might have slipped in McAmmond in as an HM, but that's probably due to personal bias. I played a little too much NHL 2004.

I completely agree with the list.
But that's mostly because I'm too young to remember half of them, so I don't really know.

Especially for the abuse he took from the fans inside the Dome. IIRC the phrase went..."Tweet tweet, twiddle twiddle, there's only one goalie with the hole in the middle". Vernie had a habit of letting in a softie between his legs at the worst possible time.
It got so bad his parents gave up their seasons tickets. First his mom and then his dad.

As someone who was not alive in the 80's, the only guy I've never heard of has to be Colin Patterson. His numbers would be pretty meh for a player even today, nevermind considering it was the 80's.
What was his game like?
