I think there was some discussion on this in the burger thread. Seems like Naina's is the place to go now. New location on 17th ave.

I work next to Loungeburger and walk past it probably every other day to go to the bank. If not for the burger thread I wouldn't have even known it closed, and even when I did it was about 2 months after it happened.
In its place will be The Still Fine Spirits & Edibles. I find it to be a bit of a funny name because come 2017 the term "edibles" is probably going to mean something much different.

Err.. so what's happening in 2017 specifically that will make 'edibles' mean something else?

Restaurants generally have a high failure rate, so it will be interesting to see if there is a spike.

Did another restaurant open up in its place?

What are some other Pre-Calgary Flames game dinner options?

My wife and I were going to go before the Hip concert, it was closed then.

(disclaimer, 2nd hand info) apparently the plan for the new place is to eventually have an actual gin distillery on premises, which is an interesting take on the brewpub model. Anyways, from what I've heard so far (I also work nearby) it's an improvement over Loungeburger.

From what I've seen, hipster stuff tends to be a little more recession proof

The legislation will be proposed on that day. I wouldn't expect full recreational legalization until some time in 2018.

To me Lounge Burger epitomized the worst of the Calgary food scene during the boom times....crappy service, high prices, mediocre food.
