Default Who should the Flames hire as the new head coach? (2nd edition)

Now that Boudreau and Boucher are gone to Minnesota and Ottawa, the Flames will have to look elsewhere.

Disregard the old thread. Here's an updated poll with more options. Who do you think they'll hire?

Surprised Ted Nolan isn't on the list.

I liked him when he was with Buffalo.

Darryl Sutter if available, but I doubt it will happen.

Wayne Gretzky? Ok, who's idea was it to slip that one in there?

I picked Dineen. I would love D.Sutter as a coach again but think it's a longshot at best. Even counting the crazy trades later on is his tenure and poor overall drafting record I think his biggest downfall was his inability to replace himself as coach.

If St. Louis were to lose to Dallas and Hitchcock was let go, would we be interested in him?

Got these names from a generic list of coaching candidates. Can't seem to find the list again but these were the ones that I thought were intriguing : John Hynes, Dale Hunter, Brad Shaw, Mike Kitchen
Kevin Dineen and John Stevens also interesting

Phil Housley is an inyertimg option. Familiarity with Gaudreau.

Kirk Muller is one I am going to keep an eye on.

The Blues had a web series on their off season coaches meetings
Kirk Muller comes across as rather dim. Pretty much a yes man for Hitch. Brad Shaw, on the other hand seemed bright, and had ideas to contribute.

I only want Sutter if they promise he'll never have any management responsibilities. Ever.

I like Darryl but I think it would be awkward re-hiring him.

I voted for Green just because he's a successful up and comer with pro experience. I have no idea what systems he uses and how he'd fit into Treliving's plan though. He did get Baertschi back on track for whatever that's worth.
