I like Bonterra and they do host great dinners and corporate parties. Do they have capacity for a dinner of 150 people though? I don't think it is that large.

What time of year?
Can't go wrong with Bonterra in the summer.
Teatro is a great pick year round. It's just set up so well for a party with the main room for dinner, Opera room for dancing and the patio for outdoor area.
River Cafe is beautiful but it doesn't work perfectly for dancing. Believe they don't let you install a dance floor without pressing.
I don't really love anything in that Saltlik-Divino stretch of 8th for parties.
It's not downtown but Rouge might host a neat party if done right. They have the garden in back. I've never been to a wedding there though.

Raw Bar has the best cocktails and amazing food. In the summer they also have tables around the pool at Hotel Arts.

I had my wedding at Rouge in the garden. It was pretty amazing since the weather was fantastic for an outdoor shindig. They have a big tent set up that all the food is served in, a bunch of different stations for different dishes and people just wandered to tables scattered throughout the garden. They also let us set up croquet etc in the garden for people to play. Dance floor was in the restaurant.
Cost wise, it was a minimum buyout and I think food was something like $85 a person. The rest of the buyout goes towards your bar bill and tips etc. We didn't go over with ~100 people. When we did the math, the buyout was competitive with other venues when you added in all their extras. One thing we found talking to various venues is you need to ask about all the extra costs (some wanted to ding us for all sorts of things), and you also need to talk to the manager (or whomever handles the wedding) and make sure that they are on the ball to handle everything. Nothing worse than uncertainty when you are trying to have a good time.
Extra costs were for table and chair rentals for the seating in the garden ($1200 ish I think). And any decor you might want. It was also nice that they worked well with our DJ, florist, etc.

I went to a wedding at Bonterra and it was awesome. They had the ceremony out on the patio and then we all went in for dinner. Really nice.

The Nash is super hip right now, and Michael Noble is arguably the best chef in town at the moment. The food is fantastic, particularly if you like wood fired Rotisserie. The restaurant + bar could probably handle 150 patrons too. It's a little expensive.
Charbar would be a very cool & unique venue, and you could tie in some nice wedding photos within the surrounding river area. The food is pretty good too, although they overcooked the majority of their proteins at the venue I was at, which was very odd considering it should be what they are known for. I'd imagine its also cheapear than the Nash.

Bow Valley Ranch, again not downtown (fish creek park), is a great spot as wll

I got married there and it holds 105 for sit down dinner FYI. It was 10/10 for the food, service, and location was perfect. Dinner is in the main room and we had the other dining room as a dance floor. The patio was open as well. Oh and price was way lower than some of the other places mentioned.
For informal you may be able to get the person count higher since we did sit down in one room and a dance floor in one room.
At any rate I would call them. Their food and service is top shelf. My wife raves about the whole experience to this day.
