Default HD Media Player

I'm looking for a HD Media Player. It is for my RV. I want to be able to throw a bunch of movies and tv shows on this thing, and use it when we travel. I thought of a mac mini, but I'm not sure the 1.4GHz with 4GB memory and a 500 GB HD would work well enough and it's $599. Are there any other options out there?

TV of your choice + External HDD/SSD or fast USB stick + Intel Compute Stick/ChromeBit

I would suggest your get a Roku 3,$110 or so. Load movies on a usb stick, or external usb drive and you are done.

Shop around, you should be able to find the 3 for less. Roku 2xs would work as well but you would have to convert to a compatible format.

Get an LG Blu Ray player. That's what I use in my trailer. It plays anything I can throw at it, including DVD and BD. but what makes it special is that it has a 12 volt input. So you can use it while dry camping.

Edit- this is the current model. http://www.visions.ca/Catalogue/Cate...7333&sku=BP350 Pair it with a 1 GB external hard drive, and you have your solution for under $200.

If your tv isn't 12 volt- look at 19" RCA or Proscan.

Default WDTV Media Player

I have a WDTV Media Player I use on my tv in the deck room and for camping in the trailer. I got one for my FIL as well as he used it in his as well. Got them off Kijiji for 20 bucks ea. I use Kodi/TVMC and download shows and movies and put them on a USB. Plug them in and play and good to go for cheap entertainment. Small box too so easy to transport as it doesn't take any room and works great. Just plug into small power converter in trailer if not plugged in as it doesn't use much power.

I also use a wdtv live for that purpose. And it's been perfect for it, I just use a 64gb USB stick and it holds around 40 movies depending on format and what not. I find that most xvid DVD rips are good quality for the rv sized TV.
