Default Madden 16

Got my copy from Amazon yesterday and, after dealing with PS4's ridiculous download speeds for the update file, booted it up. I haven't played a Madden game since Madden 25, and I gave up on that one pretty quickly, so I actually just did the tutorials last night. Gotta say though that I'm very impressed with the graphics, physics, and the new QB and WR controls. Looking forward to starting an offline franchise tonight and really testing it out.

I haven't really played a Madden game since ~2010 or so. I picked this up through EA Access, and I'm REALLY digging it. Will definitely be buying the full version.

I'm almost done all of the tutorials, and then will try to take on some of the MUT challenges. It's a blast so far, feels more like a sim than an arcade game.

It's definitely trending upwards in reviews compared to previous years. From metacritic:

Madden 25 - 74/73 (PS4/XBONE)
Madden 15 - 81/80
Madden 16 - 83/86

I haven't played a Madden since 13, this and NHL are the only reasons I miss having a new console

If NHL has a great release I may have to upgrade

15 was actually a really fun game, much better than 25. If they improve on that then it will be good.

I really enjoy Madden 15, so I'm going to stick with it this year.

madden15 was really solid, especially compared to madden25. it makes me hopeful for NHL, as the 2nd release on the next gen consoles have been much better than the 1st iterations.

i just don't have time to play 2 games over the winter, and hockey gets my time regardless of how bad it is. Am looking forward to picking this up when it hits the vault in ea access.

This game is ####ing awesome. Started a franchise last night and am just wowed by everything. They finally fixed one of what I found to be an incredibly annoying issue, that chewing the clock takes forever in the last two minutes. Now you can set your playcalling strategy to "chew the clock" and it'll automatically knock 30 seconds off the game clock every time you call a play.

The passing game is incredibly crisp. There's no more just bombing it down the field whenever you want. You really need to make the correct reads pre and post snap or else you're going to get owned. Defense is fun as hell now to with the new controls. There are a couple minor bugs I think they need to work out, but nothing that ruins the game.

4.5/5 for me.

I am really enjoying it, but I also have no idea how to read plays, and am terrible at defence.

I need to play more.

Alright I'm sold, need to pick this up. I somehow went from exclusively playing sports games to never playing them the past 2-3 years, a decade ago Madden release day was arguably my most anticipated day of the year. Time to get back on the horse.

Does anyone have their receipt for their PS4 copy that they would be willing to help me out in exchanging it for a Xbox one copy?

15 looked and played fantastic. Trouble is, as I made apparent in the 15 thread, I am not really a football guy and have no clue what I'm doing.

My friend, who (to qualify) is an in-depth NFL fan, says that 16 is the most amazing football game ever made. So take it for what it's worth.

Found one giant piss off that I would advise people to avoid. When you're starting a Connected Career, the game will give you the option of saving the file locally or to the EA cloud. I unfortunately picked the cloud. The problem with the cloud is if you're in the middle of a game and your internet connection cuts out, or EA's servers go down, you EA gives you a nice little message that says your score and stats will not be recorded a.k.a. you have to restart the game from the beginning. If you're someone like me who plays with 15 minute quarters, getting that message with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter of the NFC championship game made me damn near put my controller through my TV.

If only EA put forth the effort they do in Madden into NHL series. But just got Madden 16 this week so I'll give it a try.

Still, nothing will ever beat Madden 64

Fifa 15: 17 Million Sales

Madden 15: 6.04 Million

NHL 15: 1.38 Million

Sadly the NHL games will never get the focus that Fifa and Madden do, as unsurprisingly those games that have a bigger audience, will also get the bigger budget.
