Default Let's Talk 'bout Seeting up a Home Network Printer

I currently have an older HP printer directly connected to my downstairs PC via a USB cable.

The PC mentioned above is still running Windows 95 (I have not updated it because in some ways I want this thing to die and then I'd likely buy a mac or something). this computer is used mostly for downloading music, photos.

I was wondering if it is easy to set up the printer as a network printer (I currently have a router for the WiFi).

Ideally, I'd like this to be setup whereby I don't have to leave the PC on all the time, and I'd like to be able to print suff from the iPad and our laptop.

Is it possible to easily set this up?

If you need to keep that printer connected to that PC, that PC will absolutely have to be on all the time.

Nowadays you just need to share out that printer under printer properties.

Win95.....wow......

You can buy a print server. Addonics makes one that is pretty cheap. You don't get all of the features of your printer (say if it has fax or scanning) but for just printing they work well.

One like this you can plug in a usb hard drive and use as an NAS or a printer.
