Me too ... Ortio was up for me.
Ortio has had two stints in two seasons. Both started well and ended average. I look more at his AHL work though, his big 2nd half two years ago, and then what happened to his team without him last year was telling.
He seems to have starter gray matter.

This is the last easy one for me. Not sure I completely agree with the order but I think Ortio plus the previous 4 picks are our top 5 prospects when considering potential as well as how close they are to being NHLers.

Kylington for the 4th time...would be Ortio otherwise....
Still believe Kylington and the 2 goalies should have been selected before any of the forwards (outside of Sam of course)

3rd time voting for Ortio - its not out the realm of possibility that he could be our starter by the end of the season -

Granlund then Ortio. I think Granlund will become Backlind with better playmaking ability
Ortio could be our next starter but a bad camp could also find him on waivers. Lots of pressure on him to beat out two decent goalies. Huge potential

Went for Ortio for the second time
My list has gone: Bennett, Gilles, Poirier, Ortio, Ferland
My next tier is: Hickey, Granlund, Arnold, Morrisson, Kylington, Anderson

Still think Jankowski's offensive skill is hidden with the Friars...When he makes the jump to pro, I feel like he's going to surprise a lot of people.
I'm probably going to be voting him until the double digits ranks though.

Ortio again, but I have no idea who I'm going with after this.
Klimchuk or Wotherspoon maybe? Would love to hear more people make cases for the guys they are voting for.

Klimchuk. I think he's the safest bet of the guys on the list to have an NHL career even if it's as a utility forward. Too hard to tell with goaltenders or defensemen.

Can anyone who has watched Morrison play tell me about his style and potential?

Number 6 has to be Marcus Granlund.. Then I don't know. Probably going to start picking guys like Hickey and Hunter Smith who had really strong seasons. Tempted to pick Gilmour and Jankowski soon too because of the frozen four win..

I haven't watched him, but he's supposed to be a solid two way defender with excellent skating and a real hard shot. Probably a potential top 4 defenceman.

AHL Flames were playoff bound until Ortio was injured, then they fell off the map completely. He had a slow start to last season but has otherwise been a consistent presence between the pipes. I think he's going to push one of Ramo or Hiller out the door this season.

I'm not disputing your assessment, but I think the injury to Bill Arnold and the loss of his offensive instincts also played a large roll in the fall from a playoff position. I think he's a serious dark horse to make the opening night roster.

With the showings that Ortio has had at the NHL level over the past 2 seasons, there is no doubt that he deserves to be considered one of our top 5 prospects. I'll be voting for him until he's off the board.
