Summer2015 Prospect Ranking - Round 1
It's time.
Calgarypuck's 3rd annual Prospect Ranking Poll!
Going with the 25 and under with 65 or less games played at the NHL level which actually works pretty closely with my own rule of thumb of "anyone not too old that hasn't been penciled in".
Therefore Granlund, Jooris, Ortio and Ferland are still prospects, with Jooris 5 games light of the 65 game limit.
Monahan and Gaudreau are young but clearly established and no longer prospects. Bennett may be penciled in but he's only played 12 NHL games and is a prospect.
Make sense?!
Please let me know quickly if I've left players out of the mix.

Nice, been looking forward to this. Can you post the last few years results too so we can compare?

Hickey should move up a lot.
Could Bennett get 100% in the first round?

Vote for OMIT if you still want Jooris to win.

I'm guessing Hickey will be a lot higher than 23 this year.

Number 2 will be interesting. Has Ferland done enough to move up to number two?

I voted Ortio because I don't think Bennett is a prospect. He won't be sent back to the OHL, and can't play in the AHL.

I LOVE that #35 last year has already graduated from prospect status, surpassing all except 2 or 3 names on that list.
I hope we witness something similar this year.

lol - my quick reading made me miss Bennett!!! Oops, while I love the potential of Ferland based off his playoffs my vote should be going to Sam.

I love these threads, thank you!
The first thread isn't even an hour old and the age old question of whether the intent is to vote for "highest potential" vs "most likely to meet potential" is being raised given some of the non-bennet votes

I get what you mean. I almost voted for Gillies, then saw Bennett at the last second.

Oh damn. Bennett's on the list? I voted for Poirer but would definitely vote for Bennett over him.
