Active shooter in Edmonton shoots multiple officers, 1 officer reportedly killed

Scary situation. A shooter has shot multiple police officers. The shooter is still on the streets.
Stay safe Edmonton!
1 officer reportedly killed. If true, RIP. So sad.

I've never seen anything like this before, personally. It's pretty nasty up here. Hope they all make it out alive but it's not looking good.
A couple cars went blazing by my place at well over a hundred and went through the red light without even slowing down. A house is on fire over there, but the area is not secure so they just left it to burn.

One officer confirmed shot in stable condition. Second officer condition unknown, but has been extracted from scene. Rumours are that he was laying motionless in the street while police exchanged gunfire. The house on fire is likely related to this.

Sources tell CBC that an Edmonton police officer has died in a west #yeg shootout tonight. Believed suspect still inside burning house #CBC
Also rumours that the suspect has been jumping fences, etc. so there's absolutely no confirmation that he's in the house.

No official confirmation on the death and nobody besides CBC's Johnston is reporting it, but she seems sure on her sources. From my balcony I can still see smoke from the fire, but it has lessened. EFD have been fighting it.
So it's 1 reportedly injured fatally, and a second confirmed shot but stable in hospital.

They just abruptly broke into the National (very briefly) for Ian Hanomansing to report that one officer has been killed. They (CBC) also say the suspect is in that burning house.

Multiple sources confirming it now. EPS mini-presser coming shortly. It's getting dark now, and the smoke from the fire has only lessened slightly, an eerie silhouette against the setting sun in the west.
