Default Unsigned 2013 CHL draft picks. Update: Flames elect not to sign Eric Roy

The Flames have 7 days to sign Eric Roy.

The following players will be available in the 2015 draft if not signed by their respective teams before June 1st (with the exception of Bell who will be UFA). If they are not selected in the 2015 draft, they will become UFA.

Thanks to caley on HF for the list.

Martin Reway would be worth a flyer if the Habs fail to sign him.

Reway has some name recognition, he might be re-drafted. Not so sure about anyone else. I recall Kujawinski as a guy that might be a decent value, but he hasn't produced much as an overager

I've vouched for him before, but if Myles Bell isn't signed, I wouldn't mind seeing the Flames throw a contract or even just a PTO/ATO at him.

He's a big RH (although listed as a LW), and he played D his whole life up until his last season of Jr. Possibly could be converted back? Always had great puck skills, a cannon shot, and hit hard. Haven't followed his progress much, but he could be an interesting pick up IMO.

No point in taking a flyer on any of these guys, they would be buried by our depth as there's nothing there we don't have already. If there's anything we have a lot of, it's B prospects with uncertain futures. Don't need to add any C prospects that are already 20 years old.

Scores a ton of points for a defenseman, but struggles defensively. He's apparently taken strides this year to improve his defensive game, but it may be too little too late.

Had a good playoff showing as well.

It looks more likely the Flames won't sign Roy. It has been almost 2 weeks since Brandon was eliminated and their is no "player is focusing on playing" excuse right now. ELC contracts do not typically take long to negotiate.

According to the Wheat Kings Roy, is still hoping to sign with the Flames, so it would be the team's decision not to sign him.

You would have to think with the 7 players from the first 88 picks potentially coming into the fold they may prefer to hold that contract spot for the near future.

Jeez I thought Mitch Wheaton was a 5th round steal too at the time. Poor guy has had terrible luck re-habbing his shoulders. Not sure he's worth a pick in the next draft. He has Seiloff syndrome (missed a ton of development time).

Kujawinski might be a player to take a flyer on. Big Bodied C and all.

And I hope the Flames sign Roy but it won't be the end of the world if thy don't.

Why would we throw a POTATO at him? That's just mean.

Wait, I thought Arizona was pretty high on that goaltender Brendan Burke? Does Treliving bring him in as Gillies' backup? Plus I think he's Austin Caroll's buddy.

I don't want anything to do with Myles Bell. He was involved in a drunk driving accident (he was intoxicated) and ended up killing his passenger. No thanks.

He was not intoxicated. He was driving way too fast on a bumpy country road.

Doesn't excuse the accident, but booze being involved was not the case.

Reway may be worth a look. He's a small left winger but has decent numbers. Admittedly I have hardly seen him play.
Second in points-per-game (min. 20 games) in the Czech league as a 20-year-old and decent Junior numbers both years. Good World Juniors performances for the Bronze-winning Slovakian team this past tournament.

I don't see much in the rest of the list, though.

Jackson Houck could be worth looking at. Right winger, decent size, good two-way player.
