I've never been to one of these things before. Can some CPers shed some light in what type of things they are going to sell, and if it's worth it to go? Are the equipment priced at good deals?

There's usually a list of items each player is selling for X amount of $$$.. somebody will post it soon.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to the rumours that they're changing the branding on the jerseys from Reebok to CCM next year?

They *usually* do 35% off reg priced stuff at minimum.

Disappointed I'm working that weekend. I always like to go check it out.

The RBK contract expires after next season I believe, so I bet we get one more season of the current design.

i'd LOVE to buy hiller's throwback mask - i can only imagine what it would cost (if it is even for sale)

i'm currently getting one of my goalie masks repainted and strongly basing my paint job on that mask (customizing it to my mens team's colours/logos of course)

According to Friedman, the Reebok contract doesn't expire until after 2016/17?

30.Small business item: Reebok has the rights to make NHL jerseys. Its parent company, Adidas, apparently is considering putting its own name there instead of Reebok. As part of that, we may see an extension of the current contract, which runs through 2016-17.

However, this doesn't confirm whether they are allowed to change logos in the middle of the contract. Assuming they can, my guess is that if they are going to go through the work of changing from Reebok to CCM or Adidas, they will want to get more than two seasons out of it (which is all that remains on the current deal).

Generally its not worth it at the Flames equipment sale. I will go , line up the day before, and have a fun experience but the prices are way up even from a couple years ago. Unless you're willing to go at 9am the day before all the good stuff is gone. Even last year when I was 2nd or 3rd in line there wasn't much to write home about. Newer pants were over 100 bucks, used sticks were 150 bucks, and helmets were 50 or 60 bucks. I have fun nonetheless as I'm a gear whore and really enjoy the guys that camp overnight at the event.

I ordered one of those hats from NHL.com (ballcap the boys were wearing in the playoffs in the locker room with the playoff patch on the side), and it did have the patch on the side!

Fanattic said he ones with the patches were for players only, but I took a chance and ordered from NHL.com and it did have the patch on it, great hat! Also I think they were 40% off on the speedwick shirts as well, got a long sleeve for 20 bucks!
