The chants thread (never quit after goals against)
Starting chants at the dome can be difficult, but due to the amount of fans on this site, it might be a bit easier to organize.
I have an idea for a chant which, IMO, would sound great given the context.
After a goal against (especially if going down two) the crowd should come back with NEVER QUIT instead of go flames go.
It personifies the team and the mantra.
Go Flames Go will always break out at different parts of the game and I don't want to screw with that. But if we could start the NEVER QUIT chant after goals against I think it would be just awesome and it would have a much larger impact on our players.

I'm not opposed to the idea, but don't think posting on here is gonna accomplish anything unless alot of us were seating in the same section during the game

I think it's a great idea. Maybe talk to a few of the people in your section beforehand and get them on board, if enough of you start saying it then it will catch. People just want to cheer when the C of Red gets like this. The hardest thing is understanding what people are saying when they start chants - the "where's your daddy" chant started a couple sections over from me on Sunday and we tried to pick it up but the people around me were saying "let's go Calgary" so it just got muddy.
Lots of people on here go to the games, so I'd say this is as good a place as any to start spreading the word. Good luck and scream your heads off!!

Don't mean to hijack but just posted this in a different thread:
I'm sure we all remember the classic Iggy, Iggy, Iggy, Oi, Oi, Oi chant. I'm a huge Iginla fan but I would love to hear that edited to represent our current team, so what is CP's thoughts on the following after Johnny scores (because its a question of when not if )
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny,
Oi, Oi, Oi
Johnny,
Oi,
Johnny,
Oi,
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny,
Oi, Oi, Oi
It would be amazing to hear opposing sides of the Dome chant each line.

I am not saying it would be easy but it has to start somewhere.
If I am not mistaken CP started the "C" and "Red" during the anthems by posting the idea on here
It starts with an idea and takes many to implement it.

A polite Canucks fan who sat next to my friend and I in Game 3 gave us credit for starting a chorus of boos at Bieksa when he held the puck behind his net in the first period. Alas, we only got one more person to scream "Sucks!" each time "Ed-die" was taunted in sing-song fashion by the rest of the audience.

I'd be up for a "where's your daddy" chant at Eddie Lack.

If we started booing Sbisa the Canuck fans would probably join in

If the Canucks score, immediately start the Go Flames Go chant, while the Canucks are still celebrating on the ice.

Points for effort, but that was Iggy's chant. It should be retired the same way #12 is.

This is the idea Huntingwhale - instead of Go Flames Go after a goal, immediately come back with NEVER QUIT instead of GFG. The only time to do it is after a goal

The second I started chanting this last game, Cansucks scored their second goal. A jinx perhaps? Kind of like bad things always happened in 2004 when the "Ricci's ugly" chant started...

^ Its funny I had the same concern. But then we chanted it two more times and nothing bad happened.
But yeah...after we started it in PL7 the first time I was then instantly like "SOAB shouldn't taunt other peoples family members, bad karma".

if the dome can get a go Schlemko Go chant started, I Don't think a Never Quit will be that hard. People will definitely join in.

I hope it catches on. We need the jumbotron guys to get it going!
I just thought it was really cool yesterday when the Jets lost in OT and immediately the crowd started chanting Go Jets Go while the Ducks were all celebrating. Loyal to the end.

I think that is why it would have the biggest impact. The playoff mantra (and whole year mantra) is NEVER QUIT. The players have bought in, now the C or Red must buy in as well.
To hear the crowd remind the players of that mantra after each goal against should help the player more IMO. Keep them focused. Keep GFG for the start of the game and whenever else it breaks out but after goals against NEVER QUIT
Pass it on

I was hearing "Let's Go, Schlemko!" a few times on Sunday night. It wasn't dome-wide but it was definitely higher up in the sections behind the benches where that chant was emanating from.
I'm not a fan of the idea of the never quit chant. Can't put my finger on why. I wouldn't hate it though.
