He's added a great dynamic to this team. A playoff dynamic. The way he gets under the skin of the opponent, the way he hits, and he can make plays. He's becoming a real nice power forward for us kinda like Lucic.
He's been a beast so far for sure.

Talk about making the most of an opportunity.
Love, love, love the idea of having both Ferland and Bouma on the LW behind Johnny.

I believe in the Pony Power

The key thing with him is his size, but the fact he can skate. If he can develop the ability to pot 10-15 goals he becomes a very interesting piece long-term. This is what the modern day tough guy looks like.

A tougher Ville Nieminen, the kind of player the Flames have been missing all these years.

With 19 hits in the playoffs, #Flames Michael Ferland is alone in third behind NYI's Matt Martin (22) and Washington's Brooks Orpik (22).

Imagine if Ferland and Bouma were both in the same game.
The Canucks would be picking bits of Plexiglas out of their faces.

The "irrelevent" player that you drop the gloves and start throwing punches while the puck is still in play?

Yup, Métis I believe!
Also of note: his surrounding community (including his family/sister) made some serious sacrifices and offered a lot of support to get him to the league (hence the Oake interview): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Ferland
