I don't see how Bob Hartley doesn't win it at this point. Even a last minute failed playoff push would have still had him in contention, but to bring this team to the playoffs? With respect to Alain and Paul, this is Hartley's trophy.

Hartley followed closely by Maurice. I get that Maurice has done a great job in WPG, but the accomplishments Hartley and staff have made are just a little more incredible I think.

I wouldn't be surprised if Peter Laviolette gets serious consideration as well.

I think Hartley gets it now that we are in, but there really are a lot of good candidates. I could see Maurice or Vigneault getting it.
EDIT: or even Laviolette. Lots of good picks this year. Shoot, Hartley might not even be a finalist. What a year for teams turning it around!
Boudreau doesn't deserve it. I like him as a coach, but the Ducks have been good for a long time and have a lot of talent.

Of course we'll be biased on this site, but getting in the playoffs with a team many thought would be bottom 5 should give Hartley the edge. Not to mention he did it down the stretch without the team's best player.

At the start of the season Vegas had Calgary(along with the Oilers) at 100 to 1 to win the Cup. Edmonton didn't disappoint.
Hartley will win the Jack Adams .

Hartley
Maurice
Desjardins
Laviolette
Capuano
Cooper
It is way too hard to narrow that field down to even 3 candidates let alone pick one.
And I would hate it if Boudreau or Vigneault get noms. The Ducks will finish this season with less points than last season. I think to get a Jack Adams you should do something exceptional - aka major improvement from your team's record the previous year, defying expectations, or doing more with less talent. But the good team that continues to be good team coach, just kinda bugs me. The Rangers should be where they are with that talent.

Of course we're all biased, but considering that the Flames were expected to be a bottom-five team again and, amongst other injury setbacks, lost their captain and MVP 20 games before the end, it's hard to argue against Bob. His acceptance speech would be entertaining, that's for sure.

This award usually goes to the guy who got the most out of a team no one expected to do much. The Rangers went to the Finals last year, so I don't know if Vigneault will get much consideration.
The Flames, Islanders, Canucks, and Jets were all bottom 10 teams last year who most people expected to struggle again this season. I suspect the top three will be Hartley, Maurice, and Capuano just because I can't see the voters going with all Western Canadian teams. I wouldn't be surprised if Laviolette or Desjardins make the cut either.
I could see Capuano taking it if Hartley and Maurice split the Western vote and the Eastern voters go heavily in his favour.
Bob should win it. The fact that he's a good interview will probably also help his chances since the voters are the members of the NHL Broadcasters Association.

My 3 choices would be
Hartley
Maurice
Laviolette
But likely won't happen cos all 3 of them are from Western Conference

I would vote Hartley, naturally, but wouldn't be outraged if Maurice won either. Or Capuano for that matter - though I think the way the Flames and Jets stormed in will give Hartley and Maurice the edge.

Hartley should win the Adams, that being said, how awful does Tortorella look now! The team that fired him goes to the finals last year, the year he coached them he dropped them to the 6th worst in the league. Everything he touched the past couple years has turned to crap.

They should? I look at that as a pretty average team that has somehow been the Presidents Trophy winner. That isn't a team that seems overly strong, they had their #1 goaltender injured, and yet they keep winning somehow

Laviolette can't be overlooked. Strong improvement from last year, though my argument is that they simply under-performed last year and are now at where they should be. Flames were where they should be last year, and over-performed this year

Hartley, Maurice, and Laviolette should be the finalists, but if Hartley doesn't win that's a disgrace.

Boudreau definitely inherited a strong roster, but his teams have won their division 7 of the 8 years he's coached in the NHL, the lone exception being when he moved from Washington to Anaheim mid-season, and was unemployed for all of 2 games.
Hartley has to win this one though.

Lots of great stories this year, and all great candidates.
In my very biased opinion, Hartley's story is the best of the bunch.

There are so many deserving coaches this year I think Hartley will be in tough to win. The Predators were predicted by many to be near the bottom of the standings and now their near the top of the West. Laviolette seems like a favorite. Jack Capuano has also done a very good job with the Islanders who I don't think anyone predicted would be this good. Maurice has done a great job. Obviously Vigneault winning the Presidents Trophy. Trotz has really turned the Caps around. Dave Cameron if the Sens make it.
