Oh man that Sbisa contract makes Engelland's look half decent... that guy is a trainwreck for the Canucks. I've seen a lot of Canucks games this season (gf is a Canucsk fan), he reminds me of Butler when the Flames had him playing with Bouwmeester, just makes the players around him worse.

I love this, those are bad deals for Vancouver.
Only thing is if Dorsett gets 4 x 2.65, how much is Bouma worth? I believe Dorsett was a pending UFA but still...

Pretty bad re-signings for Vancouver.
Suddenly, Engelland's contract looks nice.

He is not overly popular with Canucks fans as some feel that Benning's guys have been pushed on the coaching staff and get more ice time than they deserve. IMO he's serviceable but he's nothing special that's for sure and more of a 5/6/7 defenseman. I don't think this is a good deal for the Canucks. Engelland isn't anything special either but the Flames have to spend to get to the cap floor while the Canucks are almost at the cap ceiling which makes this deal and term somewhat questionable.
The Dorsett deal is okay for money as he's had a decent season but 4 years for this type of player is on the long side.

Sbisa is overpaid. They are banking on him continuing to develop into a top 4 guy. The same thing the Ducks banked on when they gave him his current deal. I don't see it. He's a reasonable enough third pairing guy who can play physical at times but that's too much money. He is among the worst possession players in the league. There was a good argument for him to have a substantial pay reduction. He got a raise.
Dorsett deal is far far far too long for a 4th liner. You don't pay 4th liners that money or give them that term.

I hope Bouma doesn't use this to boost his next contract...
Still hoping for something around $3m/year, but if Dorsett gets almost that much, Lance COULD sign for $4m+.
Thanks Vancouver.

$6.25M a year for Sbisa and Dorsett?!
They'll eat up 9% of the team's cap.... for a 4th liner and a bottom pair defenceman!

These are all UFA years though.
If Bouma signs for 4 years, it'll be 2 RFA and 2 UFA years

Well, if we're comparing #6 defencemen, I'd rather have Engelland at $2.9 million than Sbisa at $3.6 million.

Luca Sbisa is making more money than Kris Russell - Let that sink in for a minute.
