Looking at a Koodo plan

I'm currently with Fido, and want to switch to Koodo. The 59 dollar a month plan includes unlimited anytime minutes, 2GB data, unlimited text (picture as well). This is a no tab plan, and I would bring my own phone.

Any other carriers that can offer something that compares? I like Koodo because they work off Telus towers, and I don't live in a major centre where a smaller company like Wind would work.

I've been looking at just about everybody except Wind (coverage/speed issues) and this is the best plan I could find. I need to ween myself off the 6GB plan I'm used to, then I'm switching to this one.

Speaking of 6 gig plans, I feel your pain. I'm already dreading Spetember when my $65 plan ends. I want data, I don't care about unlimited phone.

Exactly. There is no plan that moves value from voice to data. Is data more costly to the providers than voice? I could easily do with 100mins a month of voice. Its the data that I use. But if I want anything more than 2gigs its going to cost at least 80$ unless you are on some sort of retention/promotion deal.

This koodo plan seems to be the best of a bunch of crap.

I think I could easily do 20 free minutes a month...hell, I'd do pay as you go if it meant I could get close to 6gb a month. I'm too used to LTE now to go to back to the glorified dialup that is Wind (unless it's gotten better).

For those who don't want to get the MB/SK Koodo plan and absolutely don't need voice minutes, then the next best option for several GB of LTE data is to get a tablet plan offered by Telus, Virgin, etc and use it with your phone.
