		| Hudler paced the NHL with eight points and shared the League lead with four goals to help the Flames (36-25-5, 77 points) earn seven out of a possible eight standings points. He opened the week with 1-1—2, including the winning goal at 1:23 of overtime, in a 3-2 triumph over the Philadelphia Flyers March 3. Hudler followed that performance with 1-1—2 in a 4-3 shootout win over the Boston Bruins March 5. He then recorded 2-0—2, including the game-winning goal, in a 5-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings March 6. Hudler closed the week with a pair of assists in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Ottawa Senators March 8. The 31-year-old Olomouc, Czech Republic, native has posted multiple points in four consecutive games for the first time in his career. He leads the Flames with 23-33—56 in 63 outings this season, including four game-winning goals (tied for second on the team). | |

Great for Jiri Hudler - we are so lucky to have this guy on our team - he has been really good for the rookies. Also don't underestimate his compete level - he wants to win in the worst way.

Well deserved! Hudler was a great pick-up! Not to take anything away from Monahan or Gaudreau, but I think he's the one that really drives that first line.

Such a good player and great guy. The team wouldn't be nearly this good without him. I hope they work on an extension over the summer.

Hudler is now the fourth Flame to earn NHL Star of the Week honours in 2014/15 (Gio, Ramo, Gaudreau, Hudler) - this compares to 2013/14 when the Flames only had one spot (Backlund) in the NHL Star of the Week awards all year.
ps - Gio also won Star of the Month for Nov 2014.

I feel like we almost take him for granted with all our young players performing so well. What a huge piece of this road trip's success he has been.

Hudler is precisely what the Oilers are lacking. A good vet that can teach and elevate the play of the rookies he plays with.

Yeah I've been flabbergasted about why he was included in so many trade talks by posters here the last couple of seasons.
This guy has the highest hockey IQ we've seen since Huselius/Tanguay, but compliments it with the Detroit Red Wing work ethic.

His contract is a steal for us.

Throw in the mentor he's become for our young stars, both on and off the ice, and this is the guy you lock down as the veteran forward on this team.

A brilliant signing by Feaster. And a brilliant re-signing by Treliving when it happens.

 Congrats on 1st star Jiri!

Were there really a lot of people saying we should trade Hudler? I read CP every day and I can't recall reading anything of the sort.

Yes, there's been plenty of "sell while the value is highest" talk around Hudler for a while.
