March 8 - 5 games. Hockey all day!
Love days like today. Don't have to work, and can watch hockey 930am. I'll use mountain time for you mountain folk
Boston @ Detroit 10:30am
2-1 Boston currently. Marchand scored the tying goal with 19 seconds left last night, scores the OT winner, now gets a gorgeous shorthanded breakaway goal to open the scoring. The kid is so much fun to watch when he's not an idiot. Pasternak now scores on a beautiful PP setup. Game had been great so far
Oilers @ Hurricanes 1pm
The resistable force meets the movement object. "A great rematch of the 2006 Stanley Cup finals!" I'm sure is the tag line.
Flyers @ Devils 3pm
Two teams that thought they would be higher than they are. Despite having one of the NHLs highest scoring Duo's, Philly finds itself in tough to make it. Jersey sold of assets and have packed it in
Avalanche @ Wild 4pm
Big game for Calgary to watch. Avalanche are mediocre while the Minnesota Dubnyk's keep winning despite some signs they should be losing. Go Iggy!
Rangers @ Blackhawks 5pm
If Minnesota beats Colorado (likely) and Chicago loses to the Rags (possible), then Minnesota is 2 points back of Chicago. Yikes!

Colorado is 7-3 in their last 10, so there's a chance they beat Minny

I realize it's an empty thread, but you're missing a really great hockey game. Paille with Boston's second SH goal against the league's best powerplay. They've had 4 shorthanded breakaways. Yikes

Appreciate the updates, SP (I can't watch the game, but I'm monitoring the boxscore).

That was a great B's/Red Wings game. I'm a Bruins fan, but goddamn Marchand is a sonofabitch. I don't think he even did anything particularly egregious, but even though I'm cheering for him, I don't like him.
Oilers are now playing in front of the C of Red Seats in Carolina!

The Oilers aren't very good at defense. Or offense.
I think they ice the puck more than the Flames somehow.

I know the bruins aren't as good as hey were... Especially after losing big pieces like Iginla and Boychuk... But it will still be a really tough matchup for whoever finishes with the first seed in the east. Plus the bruins will have Krejci back in time for the playoffs I believe.

Yeah, he's got one of those personalities that instantly make you irritated just looking at him.
And yet he'd be the first guy I'd want off that Bruins team *, exactly because of his tenacity. He's got the ability to not only throw teams off their game, but he'll be the one to make them pay for it too.
*I'd also take Hamilton, but only if he'd start referring to himself as a grown up, and not wittle dougie.

That goal by Semin was easily as nice as Ovechkins falling goal where he swipes it around his head in the ice.

"A leadership moment for Semin"? Could this be the turning point for him? Oh my Carolina broadcast team... oh my.
