What about porting your number over to a VOIP provider like Fongo?
http://www.fongo.com/

If it's a work cell phone, you can just install the app and have the calls ring on your phone.

You should ask if your company would allow you to port your number over and then port it back when (if) you leave.

I know the company I work for allows that. We've even had some long timers take their numbers with them even though it was originally company issued.

I think you could port it/switch it to a prepaid cell. Put $10 on it and let that run out. You would have to check, but I think that number is still active for 6 months, so you would have to put another $10 on it before that expiry.
Voip provider sounds better, probably

Be careful you aren't losing you account status though.

My company wanted to port my number over, but I would no longer be "the customer" and would lose my very long standing history which does actually benefit me.

Have you asked them if you can just expense your monthly cell bill?

not sure if this works for you guys in the north, but i was able to get a device by obihai that connects with a google voice account so that i can have VOIP with no yearly or monthly fee. i know that VOIP plans are often cheap to begin with, but it removes all ongoing cost. device only cost 30 bucks on sale. further complicating the issue is i dont know if you would be able to transfer your number to google voice and there is apparently some long term concern with GV being supported.
