Default Rogers Wireless question

Hey all,

I have a question for those whom are more savvy with mobile devices than I am. My wife's phone has died on her, and its out of warranty. She called Rogers, and she still has approx. a year and a half left on her contract etc. My question is, are we able to go and buy any phone (as long as its unlocked or made for Rogers) and then call Rogers and have it activated on my wife's existing contract? Or will they try and ding us with fee's to end the contract and such? Thanks.

Just been reading GP-MATT's thread a few posts down as well and that has partly answered my questions. Is using an unlocked phone as easy and putting the SIM card in it as well?

Yup, as long as it's unlocked and it's compatible with the Rogers Network it should be good to go.

What was said above and just make sure you put the SIM slot back in the correct direction.

It's as easy as putting in the SIM. If the phone has an issue, notifications are easy to decipher. Just be careful you don't have some idiot sell you a phone then report it missing to receive a free phone.

The Nexus 5 was never on sale for that price.

Over a year ago, August of last year, the Nexus 4 went for that price (199 for 8GB). That was just prior to the 5 being released however.
