That's awesome. I would recommend playing in Firefox, I've done some tests and Chrome runs some of the more demanding games like OutRun like crap, while Firefox seems to handle it ok.
You can use a controller, I have a wired Xbox 360 controller plugged in that works just fine.
Press Tab in game to get some options, most notably access to the dip switch settings, there you can change things like difficulty, health number of lives etc. Once you have made your selections, exit the menu and then press F3 to reset the Rom and have the changes take effect.
