Well Goodwill won't take them anymore.
Likely recycling material. On the other hand a 27" would be great for watching Flames games in the garage!

Post it free on kijiji you would probably get someone. I just picked up a 32" CRT for my old Nintendo recently.

Post em for "free" on kijiji, after a week if you have no takers than just take em to an electronics recycling drop-off. I think most/all Staples have em.
Please don't leave them on your lawn or by the dumpster with a sign that says free. It just looks ghetto.

Also depends on the brand. I might consider a higher end CRT like Sony, but if it's RCA or lower, I wouldn't bother.

We got rid of ours by posting on kijiji it was free and would be left in front of the house and the first person who shows got it.
It was gone in 45min.
With free stuff on kijiji you get even more flakey people than normal so if you try to confirm with people you will never get rid of it.

Take it to Staples and put it in their recycling bin.

Does the CRT have component inputs? Then it's still valuable to gamers.

My 36" Sony was really good at putting my back out... so glad I got rid of that behemoth. I put it on kijiji for free.

LOL no kidding. Just before flat panels became commonplace Sony had a nice line of large Trinitrons and my brother both had the 36" ones and damn were they ever heavy beasts.

Buy an 8 bit Nintendo, like I did, and hook it up! You can't really use the old gaming systems on the newer LCD, LED and Plasma TVs. At least I heard you shouldn't.
We have ours in the den / games room of the house, and people love it!

It's not so much the tech as the size of new TV's that makes the old games look ####ty, put your super nes on a 19 inch High def and it will look ok. Those games were programed for 24 inch TV's at best.

Thanks to this thread I'm keeping the 20" for that very purpose (River City Ransom FTW).
No takers yet on the B/S/T forum; I'll probably just post the 27" on kijiji (will put it out of the way so the neighborhood doesn't look too trashy )

The main kicker is you can't play light gun games like Duck Hunt or Dreamcast House of the Dead, etc. on LCDs.

See...that's a "no deal" for me, right there. Gotta have Duck Hunt!
