Well, Brodie looked good at least. Gaudreau seems overwhelmed with the pace of play. Wonder how long he'll stay up.

I don't think you were watching the flames game then.

While I certainly wouldn't mind the Flames being in the mix to get McDavid I would hope the opening three games of the season aren't an indication of what to expect every night.

Sick team against the blues, I think most of us saw this coming.

Thought Brodie was exceptional, and Backlund and Byron looked great. Though he let in 4 goals, I thought Hillier played a strong game.

Flames were just vastly over-matched by their skill and size. Blues just ran the Flames over for half the game.

Seriously, Brodie played well and the goals weren't Hiller's fault.

Brodie does look great! Maybe Gaudreau is just stymied by what to do on a team that has very little talent. To be fair, he hasn't had a lot of experience playing without the puck.

By my count, we've got a record of conceding 5 from 11 on the PK. Thats shocking and needs work, fast.

Special teams are hurting the Flames ... to be anywhere close to competitive with the top teams, massive improvements needed on PP and PK

In addition to Brodie, I thought Russel, Byron, and Backlund stood out in a positive way. That early goal against seemed to really deflate us. But hey - on the road against a superior team, and kept it to 2-0 even strength. Things could be a lot worse.
