Icon42 Flames @ Blues, 5 p.m. MT, SN360

Ladies and Gentlemen, the many faces of Jay Bouwmeester

The Flames are fresh off a gutsy 3rd period effort against a discombobulated Oilers squad, scoring 3 to take a 5-2 win. Mason Raymond's hat trick and Joe Colborne's 3 assist night were overshadowed by a poor team performance through 2 periods forcing Karri Ramo to play lights out to keep the team in it, ending up with 38 saves in the win.

The Blues are stinging after a late bad bounce off a stanchion led to a game winning goal by Nash with less than 2 minutes to play. The Blues had a couple early season defensive lapses in an otherwise strong game, and Elliott was average though his numbers look much worse than that. However, Schwartz and Tarasenko had strong games, and Stastny scored a goal in his first game as a Blue, so the offense is as advertised so far.

The Blues dominated the season series last year, going 2-0-1 against the Flames, and they've improved their lineup so don't expect that to record to get much better this year. However, Elliott seems to be the weak link in a team that is likely destined for the playoffs. The Flames will have to shoot often and from every angle to get the Blues out of their precision defensive positioning and Elliott moving laterally. Even then, Elliott has been known for the odd weak goal.

It's possible that Gaudreau will sit as a healthy scratch tonight for two reasons: 1) to get him a bit of time watching the flow of the game from up top and 2) to allow Setoguchi some game time to see what he can offer. You can guarantee McGrattan will draw back in against the rough and tumble Blues. Also, Stastny suffered a quad contusion against the Rangers and is a game time decision, along with Patrick Berglund, but both are likely to play. Don't be shocked to see backup Jake Allen, who is more than capable, in net against a weaker offensive opponent in the Flames.

Starting lineups are based off the most recent practice/game. Lineups will be updated following the morning skate:

Flames
Glencross-Monahan-Hudler
Raymond-Colborne-Bouma
Gaudreau-Backlund-Byron
Bollig-Stajan-Jones

Byron Monahan Setoguchi
Glencross Backlund Bouma
Raymond Colborne Gaudreau
Bollig Stajan McGratttan

Giordano-Brodie
Russell-Engelland
Smid-Diaz Wideman

Ramo Hiller

Blues
Steen-Backes-Oshie
Schwartz-Stastny-Tarasenko
Berglund-Lehtera-Lindstrom
Ott-Lapierre-Reaves

Pietrangelo-Bouwmeester
Shattenkirk-Gunnarsson
Jackman-Leopold

Elliott

Go Flames Go!

Edit: Flames lines are now updated to what we will likely see.

While I will be watching sporadically from the Thanksgiving dinner table, I want to keep an eye on Diaz. Thought he had a good game against Edmonton (didn't see full game)

Gone from the St.L lineup they finished the year with:

Brenden Morrow, LW
Derek Roy, C
Adam Cracknell, RW
Chris Porter, LW
Roman Polak, D
Vladimir Sobotka, C
Ryan Miller G

Replaced with:

Ian Cole, D
Joakim Lindstrom, LW
Jori Lehtera, C
Paul Stastny, C
Jake Allen G

Polak and Sobotka were their grittiest regular players outside of Backes.

They have 8 skaters over 30 and 3 under 25.

I unfortunately see the Blues running away with this one. Good test against an actual competitor.

Hilarious GDT, thanks Cali.

Wouldn't be surprised if they switch Setoguchi in, but I really like the lines as stated above.

St Louis really owned the Flames last year, especially in their barn, and I fear/suspect more of the same today.

St. Louis Blues @StLouisBlues
Brian Elliott has a 1.80 career GAA against the Flames, which ranks fourth among active goalies since the 2007-08 season. #OurBlues

I'm going by the listing on the Flames website. Check the "what channel is the game on thread" if you want to be sure.

I watch all games on center ice, so I never have a clue what channel the game is actually on for all of you.

There'll be some games on 360 until the baseball playoffs are over.

That should be "from center ice". I'm assuming they would put the game on for you on the big screen at BB&T since you're a season ticket holder.

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
Jonas Hiller gets the start in goal for #Flames vs. #Blues tonight. Forward lines and defence pairs to follow. Stay tuned!

Little suprised Ramo earned another start, but they must still want to see what they have.

They may have a pre-established goalie rotation for the first several games.

I do too. Ramo deserves a start after his game vs the Oilers but Hiller played well against the Canucks too unfortunately they lost because the ref couldn't make up their mind a lot of times.
