Default Gotham tonight Shield tomorrow

two shows that I'm really looking for ward to.

Watched Madam Secretary last night, not terrible, not great, Tea Leoni is really going to have to carry a season that's trying desperately to be another West Wing.

I think I'm going to pass on season 2 of Shield. I found the first season pretty underwhelming.

Gotham is a Fox show, right? Knowing their track record, it'll be canceled before the 3rd episode.

I hate the fall season. All the shows I get into always get canceled.

Hopefully it isn't.

I watched the preview show, and Gotham looks to be very strong but heavily character driven instead of action driven.

That might ring the death toll for a network who's average demographic probably has the highest fan base for here comes honey boo boo.

I'm looking forward to Gotham, but I don't really have a strong background of geeking out to comics and that type of thing. I've always enjoyed the Batman movies, so that's why I like the concept of the show. Origin stories can be good. Hopefully, it's done well enough to keep viewers. I imagine, at the very least, the ratings for the first show will be good. It's been pretty hyped up though, so expectations could be high.

I'm looking forward to the portrayal of the future Penguin.

Rumors of a possible Joker appearance would probably make me a little unhappy. Of the characters that should just stay out of Gotham at least for now, its the Joker.

Gotham will get a shot, I will watch the pilot and then the second episode. The tone can change drastically in shows I find after the network says we liked this and not that from the pilot. I've got a soft spot for old Atwood from the OC..

What time is Gotham tonight?

Looking forward to Shield. I'm hoping with some of the stuff that went down last season, that they'll tie some of this season into what we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy.

So are we using this thread or the other one to discuss 'Gotham'?

I gotta admit Jada Pinkett has an awesome body for someone who's probably pushing 40 years old (just turned 43 actually, damn impressive).

Does anyone know what era this show takes place in? The wardrobe, architecture, and most of the cars make it seem like a show that takes place 20 years ago (that and lack of modern technology), but I swear I've also seen modern cars and devices as well. It's just really hard to place it.

Oh and like others my biggest complaint would be them hamstringing so many characters in the first episode. Smallville did the same thing, but it only works if they actually become relevant to the show. Do we really need to meet someone like Poison Ivy or Riddler (who I did not like) or whoever if they don't play actual roles in the show?

I actually didn't mind it, it wasn't super stellar, but Shield started slow and accelerated. I think that this show has potential.

Watched it. Liked it. But I'm not clear on all characters because it's not something I regularly keep tabs on - who is the Steampunkish girl supposed to be, that saw the Waynes shot?

Derp. Catwoman, yes?

Yup, we saw Riddler, Penguin, Catgirl, Poison Ivy and I think we may have glimpsed joker or it was a huge misdirection.

The Cop who did the ballistics check and was asking them riddles. Edward Nigma is his name.

We also met Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen, two pretty big players in the Gotham based comics whith two entirely different roads to travel. It will be interesting to see how much of that they incorporate (if any, as this all technically takes place before Batman is around).

I think Richard Kind as the Mayor was a good cast as well, he just oozes greasy politician.

According to IMDB this season is only 6 episodes long as well?

Can we merge the two threads? Following both will be exhausting and TBQH put a lot of work into his post in the other thread.
