Default Lets talk about daycares

So, now that I have a child I have to start looking for daycares when my wife goes back to work.

Anyone have any reccomendations/suggestions.

Looking for more downtown oriented as we both workdowntown and as the few dayhomes in our hood seem a bit sketchy as in "put kids in front of TV and turn on DVD".

I do work for a number of dayhomes, they're only as good as the people running them, but are an affordable alternative to daycares.

A daycare downtown is probably going to cost a fortune.

My only recommendation is to consider what daycare you want the kid(s) to be in for school down the road. Like a daycare that handles the pick-up and drop-off for you is worth getting into early.

We use Kids and Company and they are awesome. We have had our oldest there for 2.5 years and our youngest for 4 or 5 months. I believe they have 1 or 2 downtown locations. Long waitlist though.

You might want to post what neightbourhood you live in. People here might have first hand experience with one in your area.
