CP Mafia 3 Interest Check and Question
Hey everyone, it's time to ramp up for another game of Mafia! The game is hopefully balanced and I'm in the process of writing out Role PMs. I would like to get a list of interested players for this game, as well as find out when they would like to start.
This will be similar to the first CP Mafia where everyone has a character and role of some kind, but there will be some interesting variations to make things different. If you are interested in playing, please post here and let me know if you would like to start on August 11th or September 15th. Since we're in the middle of summer and lots of people are on vacation (including myself for a couple weeks around the end of the month), I wanted to see where the interest lied in waiting or starting right away.

I'm interested and would prefer August 11th as September for me tends to be busy with the kids going back to school and work ramping up.

I see this bumped every now and again. What is it?

As much as I'd like to, I've played in the first two games, so I think I'll sit this one out and watch from the sidelines.
Plus I don't think I can top the way I played the last game especially the end game where I was totally stabbed in the back.
let me know if you need any help though.

Here is my little primer from the previous game explaining Mafia:
Quote:
The setup is basically that amongst the players are a majority of town dwellers (or "townies") and a minority of mafia (or "scum"). The town's objective is to figure out the identities of and kill all of the mafia in their midst, whereas the mafia's objective is to kill enough townies to eliminate their majority. Typically about 20% of the players are the mafia.
The catch is that while the mafia know who each other are and can talk freely in private, the townies can only talk publicly in the thread and each one knows nothing more than their own role. This is what makes finding the mafia so exciting, as they will conspire to try and throw the town off track.
The game is split into days. Every day the players will vote to lynch someone, and by the end of the day the player with the most votes is lynched and their role revealed - they are then out of the game. However, if at any point during the day there is a voting majority for one person (e.g. 8 votes out of 14 people) the day will end immediately and they will be lynched. This is known as the 'hammer'.
After each day comes a night period, during which the mafia decide on an additional player to kill. They are removed from the game and the next day begins. Some special townies also have actions they may perform during the night - for example, the cop may investigate one player per night (and will be told if they are mafia or town) and the doctor may choose one player to protect from being killed that night. The identities of these players are not known by anyone other than the players themselves, which is good for them because otherwise they become clear targets for the mafia.

I would love to be in again. Either start date is fine for this cool cat.

Sounds like fun. How long does it last? I'm gone for the last two weeks of august so September would work best.

I had to go check the previous games to see how long they lasted, and it turns out they were both just shy of exactly one month! If you can post at least a couple times per game day (which is 5 real days at most) then you'll be fine.

I'm going to be in the Swiss Alps, so CP will not be on my priority list haha.
If you start it up in September I'll be game.

We used to play this way back in university. Will be interesting to see the difference online versus face to face. I'll give it a go.
